spectra 20 work

Cut out floor and 1/4 stringers. I've been grinding for days. Hope to get boat off trailer and start full length stringers this week.

Couldn't tell ya how many hours I've got into my spectra 18... But always seem to get whatever project done to it for the season... good luck with yours and keep this thread alive.

I could of left them full height but the floors would have got in the way of my tanks. I kind of like my floors being lower. It was a quarter stringer before with no floor so should be stronger.

getting interior upholstered . trying to decide on color scheme. I am leaning towards number 3 or all white with yellow piping. Any feed back would be great thanks.

Engine back in and buttoned up and running. Thanks to greg and scott at GS MARINE. I couldn't bring myself to drill the holes in the new stringers i placed. never set a motor before. The rigging is coming out clean. Interior should be done soon.

thanks. thats not orange its a lighter brown. crayon . i think its going to be all white with yellow piping.

It has been my experience that the hull is so thick and strong in the quarter stringer boats that full stringers are really unnecessary and just add weight. Did someone convince you differently?

I think power and purpose have a lot to do with construction.
Spectra also built 4 stringer marathon boats.
I don't see a 2-300 hp family cruiser needing full length stringers though it does make them pretty solid.

My Spectra 20 with an engine box handled chop better than my 23 ft. daycruiser even with the added benefit of a diverter. Those Spectras are just bad ass builds.

Thanks for the responses good or bad. It has been a lot of work . Everyone has their opinions on the full length stringer thing. I figured if i was going to do it might as well go for it. Maybe a little heavier but hopefully stronger. I've had full stringer boats before and this 1/4 stringer rode nice but had a lot of flex in my feet gas pedal. I fell like i have accomplished a lot . and just look forward to taking the family out and having some fun. hopefully i can make it out to one of your guys meets. I'm curious to know if you considered 86ing the jumper seats and going with a sundeck/engine cover or at least a bench back seat? I've never been a real fan of the factory lay out.
