650 is pretty good, I'm running a 11-1 chevy with all the good parts and it is said to only make around 680. Better make sure you have a hull to handle the extra ponies. 👍👍

Think you might wanna rethink your strategy here. Rods and cam can't be more than 1700 and you will be making around 725-750hp if your turning an AB 6200. Not bad for a pump gas motor.

Call Lynn at mondello? Why would I do such a thing?

600+ horse on a stock nodular crank? And hydraulic flat tappet cam??
Block oiling mods, not component mods!

I'm willing to bet both my arms you didn't pay to dyno your engine, and more so you don't have 600+ horses

....maybe a few sick donkeys

not sure. But your asking for a lot. My blower motor barely turned 6200 with an AB. I'm not a motor builder so can't make you any promises.

Can't get water into the engine and thru the plumbed lines when you got grass in your pump!
Should I refer you back to that post you wrote when it happened? I outlined everything there for you!

Did you pay for resize rods ? Did you pay for new pistons and block machining? ... Didn't think so...

And remember what I told you would happen?

Pump was never glogged so let's not try that excuses agian. I went off what you said could as the builder I could get away with and if you new it would blow that shows the kind of person you are to take someone's money when you knew it wouldn't work.

Already working on a new motor with a great bunch of guys so I'll be on the water and at meets.
Back to work now and let's see you run matts boat be fun to watch.

Really?
How many things did I tell you wouldn't work??
- fiberglass bow tank
- fuel pump run off off tach power supply
-janky dash wiring

What was your response to it all?? Same as what I told you about engine-

I may agree with you sir.  I myself would not use a broad brush when painting that picture.  I respect all big HP motors and they come in all brands.  If I want to call a ford guy out I will be real specific as there is always a faster boat out there with a ford.  He is running real high on confidence but a little low on Horse power.

i don't claim to have a fast boat. There are atleast 15 jets that I can think of that I can't hold a candle too. There are some fast boats out there boys and last time I checked I couldnt remember the last 100 mph olds but then again I'm still a newbie to this. And I'm not saying it can't be done, I'm sure someone has done it.

His boat has to be running first! Why you asking me to "run him" ?

You sponsoring his deal?

I've seen what's going down and it's going to be no joke.

Instead of popcorn Phil maybe get a boat and run him ;)
It was for sale yesterday I'm not sure what the odds would be in Vegas that this deal ever hit's the water.  625 horse power in a bad ass light hull gets you 85 - 90.  If its a 100MPH !!! your looking for with that same 625 horse power put good tires on the trailer your going to need them.  If I had a Olds I would be right with you guys but I don't I was one of those CHEVY guys that got called out.  I hope you guys know this is all in good fun and it's made for a good Friday thanks

I would get that in writing if you could.  The hull and setup plays as big as a role in this as the HP.  I know guys with 1000 HP that can't hit that 100 mph mark.  If you get it done with 700 HP you have completed a tough task I see it done at a true 750 HP in a CP 18 race boat.

Question? 👋

Why don't you mention what hull it is?
You've been asked a few times!

From your last posts... Tahiti 1/4 stringer

... Or did you already ditch that for another dream machine?

That is a good way to look at this, it is way better then the big let down looking for something that is untouchable.  It sounds like you will have a nice ride looking forward to checking it out.  Go big on the bottom end and we will just squeeze the shit out of it.

Had a boat run infront of me making a pass. And the jar must have done something to it. The next day my rev limit pill was bad.

. Let me take a stab at this. Running 6200 rpm catch air run it up way past your faulty rev limiter could handle so you got total shutdown. We are all just lucky Danny's boat was slow or chit would of got real quick.

No lower end girdles? Main cap upgrade? Half fill block? What are you doing for a flywheel at 700hp??

What compression you going to end up with flat tops and alum heads...

I pay my own dyno time, and you show me a dyno sheet. Wow, sounds fair...
Do I even get to see the actual motor I'm against ?or a wrinkled up dyno sheet is the only thing?

Keep in mind, I never asked who you have helping you, but you keep insisting on mentioning it. May I ask why that's important?

The challenge is to build more HP, not who you have helping you.

You pay for two simultaneous dyno pulls, I'll bring an engine!

Building an engine and "more" HP boils down to who has more $$.

Horsepower is in the machine work and blueprint, and good machine work isn't cheap, or easy to find !

Components are one thing, massaging them together is a whole other

I run a Chevy 454 and building a 496.  It's about the cash and really no matter what you run 454 455 460 it still takes money to push horse power and what you want to do with it.  I really can't knock a 455 olds at this point.  My brother has a lot of time and Research and money into his 455.  Yes a olds is different and more money to build but built right and understand the motor it self you will be amazed what that motor can do.  Not on any side but a build and a good build with any motor is what will make you break you.   My brother never had his motor Dino but know that we should be around 600 hp with a 100 shot nos.  my son rocks a stock  455 with a couple up grades and runs season after season no issues. Just change the oil and tune up ever first of season .  Her is a couple pics. The first motor is the monster and second motor is the stock and runs and runs.

When you figure in the cost of new mounts, flywheel, exhaust/intake dizzy, alternator,  oil pan etc. the cost diff might not be so much.  But if you are seriously trying to make 650+ HP from a BBO, there are no cheap routes.  Why not build a <600 HP Olds and live happily ever after?  Or put some squeeze to it with a turbo/blower.  A true 700 horse motor can be a bit of a maintenance monster.

A Big-Power-Low-budget OLDS is as rare as unicorn spit.  They usually exist in the mind.  Now an expensive built one, THAT can be found lots of places.  You know what they say about the diff between men and boys.

442 is a model of car.  No such thing as a motor that was 442 cu in.  Major Olds motors were 250, 400, 455.   Olds, Pontiac,  Buick all had em but the parts dont interchange much.

I know a lot of guys start with the Olds diesel block but I think that is a 350.
Actually I think there is a Bill Miller who builds some crazy stuff.  I think he was the guy who built an 800 HP Cadillac starting with a 472 or 500 stocker.  Massive torque at low rpm, like the Olds do.

For kicks I just went to Mondello's site.  They link to a magazine article titled Overkill.  Not.  11:1 comp., Ebrock heads, cryogenic hardening etc. netted them 544 @ 459700 HP and 568@4400 tq.   Nice wide torque curve too.  But dang, we used to beat that with a 383 stroked to 472 using nothing but OEM parts from the junkyard and a solid cam.  But hey, Olds guys are never known for the good decision making skills.

I'm running an olds and ran on a stock nodular 10/10 crank myself. Decided to go with 100 shot of nitrous afterwards big mistake being I didn't have the right head gaskets and that proved to be the end of my motor once they gave in lol. Let's say I decided to tear down my motor and buy the 488 stroker kit 4.500 crank from eagle. Just ordered the kit today all balanced up to a half of gram. Getting excited to get this beast back up and running. I'm estimating on the bottle and I do say estimate at about 600-650 ponies. I know my brother shit a few pics of motor before but here are a couple more. Bottom line is run what you want rock what you want. It's all about dollars and cents and at the end we are all out on the water together!!!!

Yea no doubt. I need to look around a little bit more I just want to be running the right application cam and mondello has a few more to choose from. Don't mind going 150 shot but only after 100 shot proves to be ok.
