Skip, those are natural, no oil or stain on them. Still need to play with different adhesives to set the inserts. Then do another soak test. Will probably make up a tray to soak the steps in oil, maybe add a little heat to it. Wanted to get some feed back before I go and buy a couple more sheets of material @ 300.00 plus per sheet.
My sister is working on the programing of the machine for the cutting. She takes my ideas and turns them into what you see there. She is used to cutting stone and making custom medallions and back splashes. Cutting wood is a different animal.
We can also put metal inserts in, like some stainless would be cool.
