Hey guys,

Im looking for a 1310 style U joint that can be seperated in order to run the engine off the hose. I have one right now but I dont trust it, and its cant be seperated. Does anyone have one in good shape theyd be willing to part with?

Maddog, drive down to mission viejo and have drivelines unlimited redo it. I spent a whopping 60 bucks and I have a like new shaft that is really smooth (had it on the lake for the first time yesterday).

Let me try to elaborate. My last post sounded a bit "short" and I didn't mean it to.

The better, and really ONLY reason to start a jet boat off the hose is to make sure it'll start and idle. You cannot tune it to perfection off the hose. And here's why.

The engine is going to perform miuch differently under load than it will in the garage for one. Two, if you try and do this with the drive connected, then yes, you're going to do much more damage to the drive than you would gain. A disconnected driveline does nothing for you in tuning a boat, IMHO.

My point is this. If it starts, and you can get it to idle, get it in the water, under load. That's the ONLY way to tune it to it's potential

Just my .02, I'm sure some onw will chime in and prove me wrong.

OK, so that all being said, if you need a 1310, I have one I'll send you. I would put new joints in it, it came from the Submarine so I know not what condition the u joints are in. If you have a 1310, use it!

Yeah, it's a major PITA to lift the engine to install/uninstall it, but brother, don't shortcut yourself.

Now, Anyone got the bigger one?? I'ma thinking I may need it.......lol
