I have been following this thread with varying interest, however my desire to run has never faded. Awhile ago, I suggested categories. I get that this is an elite thing and that I probably overstepped my bounds there.
There still seems to be a lot of interest from people wanting to run. This has been a reality check for some as most do not know what it takes to run a legit triple digit, let alone compete on that level. I still advocate that this is a good and positive thing.
I really like that this thread has gone over 100 pages and has still remained friendly. I also appreciate that those sitting on the top have kept it all light and friendly.
Some have mentioned safety varying from basic equipment all the way to having a rescue boat. I am going to step out on a limb, again, and attempt to gauge interest in an actual event with legit timeslips and all.
Futs once said something to the effect of, I learned more about jet boat setup in one weekend at the track than in years on the river. Even those who don't have the hardware to run in the top 10 can still benefit from learning setup, tuning, improving driving skills, and simply having a good time.
Again, seems to be a lot of interest here. That could be really good for our hobby, our sport, and our passion. Even the sanctioning bodies are interested in growing the sport.
