Anyone heading out Sunday??

Sent from my iPhone using SoCal Jet Boats

I'm thinking about being on the water at 8am for some test runs.

Installed new GPS this past winter, 1st trip to river it lost data every time I started to move. Autometer sent me a new antenna.

Made a few set up changes after meeting with Chris at B1 to pick up my new loader.

I would prefer to do this with a few boats around that know what's going on. Just in case something breaks I would prefer not to be out there alone.

Anyone?

The lake is at 26% and they set out some kind of warning signs Monday. I have not been there this year. Sounds like it is getting bad.

Thanks Jim, don't want to make the drive to find that out.

Looks like this chart tells me lake is at 16ft deep, am I right? Don't really know if the bottom is flat across the entire lake.

I posted that the cove was closed. There was a sign on a bouey stating CLOSED. Others later were posting that they still went into the cove and the patrol boat drove through and only waved hello. So I called a few numbers today to get a fact on the topic and nobody answers lol. I'll call again tommo.

I plan on heading out Thursday morning. I want to get some testing done on smooth water. Anyone that can escape to the lake on a weekday?

The lake is at 26% and dropping. Pretty risking not being able to see 3" deep out there.

I can, but the traffic between the lake and myself is too much.

Do us a favor. Take 20ft of fishing line or rope and a weight, you may use less than half that. Drop it overboard in a few places to give us a depth reading please

I've tried to find the depth online and Canyon lake is the only lake they take weekly readings. Looks to me like Elsinore preferred depth is 17ft and at 32ft it starts to discharge through the outflow channel.

If it's 8ft deep 25% now then is the base flat all the way across?

UPDATE: I spoke to West Marina, their ramp is still open and the city measured the channel to 6-7ft. Stated over 10ft in lake itself, not 100% on that info.

I'll check it in a couple areas when I go. Good call on the rope and weight! We were out there a couple weeks ago in my dad's boat, floating in front of the channel by the no wake bouys. Ended up dragging the outdrive through the sand. The water was 3-4' deep at the bouys. That was a wake up call to how shallow the lake is really getting. What scares me is potential hazards, (rocks, trees, old shit dumped in the lake) since it's ~16' at it's deepest spot.

Probably a long drive for you guys from Elsinore but Castaic is pretty high, and Pyramid is full. Castaic has more rules though they are much more casual this year then last. Pyramid is much more casual and do your thing type of lake.

I'm right there with you.  I"m trying to find historical data on lake levels to compare it to when I went in March but I can't find anything that is semi current.  And the stuff I did find is a few months out of date.
I'm thinking I will still go but it will be with a stick to find the shallow spots.... hopefully.

Yeah be careful guys Heads up over there at B1 business is going to pick up real soon. Tough when you can't see 2 inches deep. Someone posted a recent article that said it is at 26% and dropping.
