I did some more stickers yesterday on another boat (just numbers) and the owner offered to let me tag along on a practice run out of newport harbor.

This was my first time being out in the open ocean on a boat....4 to 6 foot swells and we were launching his 32' shockwave out of the water ....it was a blast.

20 years ago when I was in Australia the men over there hated americans, but the women loved americans. The men were crazy then too, I watched a group of high schoolers playing "football" (rugby I think), straight up "clothes lining" each other, kicking below the belt, etc... it was a blast to watch.

We took my old boat to LongBeach one time and skied in the river right off the Queen Mary. I fell off once and to my complete surprise found that I could stand up. 200 yrds from shore and only 4 ft deep. Freakin' trip that was. I love watching those Ocean racers anytime, anywhere.

those things are bad a$$. As a kid we used to take my buddy's 13 or 15' sea swirl to Catalina and ski along the breakwater/Queen Mary. Pretty crazy now that I think of it... then again skiing in Seal Beach Jetty was fun too (and warm!)

Some of the old guys I work with were just talking about back in the day when they used to ski to catalina behind a 100MPH flatbottom V-drive... They have pictures to prove it, I'll try to get Steve-O to let me borrow em.

its that time of year again....just got the call from Jay.... the race is this weekend and i leave thursday night for the Avi....i got dinner with me mum tonight so that leaves me 2 nights to knock this out.
