All my parts that were manufactured by Chevrolet are over 35 years old.

I'm still trying to see your point.  What GM or Ford is doing now has nothing to do with what we run in our boats.
So you took a motor or bought a boat with a motor 35+ year old parts and haven't done anything to it.... same block,heads,pistons,valves,cam...ect. Anyway look further up the thread to see the BBF hater and see his point and question him thanx and have a great day. Ford didn't take the welfare check... If you truly love your chevy join together and send them a letter forcing them to pay damages to those who lost prior to there Bankruptcy.

I'm gonna have to join this pissing match. The green kona I have/had is powered by the original Hardin marine 455. When I opened it up, it still had the original cam which leads me to believe the motor was never opened up which kinda backs the guy I got it from stating so. And that thing ran great every time t took it out before I freshened it up which it probably didn't even need. My old 84 k5 blazer I bribed my brother through high school with was unmolested with the exception of a auto zone sun pro gauge trio. It leaked so bad you never had to do an oil change, add a quart every week or so and change the oil filter every 3000 miles. It never really even went into overdrive and if it did it would kick in and out of it so it was always driven with od locked out. Carb would never hold a tune and runs so rich I wouldn't be surprised if you took a match to the tail pipe it would turn into a flame thrower. Stereo worked when it wanted to and the same with the a/c, heater, all the power windows and we still can't keep rear shocks on the thing with out the studs snapping.

Yah most of this stuff is something that just needs to be taken care of with some tlc but either way I drove it on and of for two years before I gave it to him in 09 and he drives it 2-3 times a week to work and it's never broke down or given him a problem other than whats listed.

Now my dad, my brother and myself all own ford trucks as well. My dads 01 f250 with the 5.4 seized the motor just over 120k miles cruising the freeway at 60. My brothers 04 ranger same thing, seized the 3.0 v6 with 88k miles on it cruising the freeway at 70. I own a 99 f250 with the almighty 7.3 powerstroke. It lost all compression in #7 and the other 7 cylinders were all low with only 200k on the odometer only 7 months after I bought it. All three trucks were maintained, all three had been to ford for all the recalls and guess what. The ranger took a dump because of the the "cam synchronizer shaft". basically a distributor with a sensor on it opposed to a cap and wires which was replaced a few months prior to it locking up in 2013 by ford under a recall because they were failing a causing the problem. My old mans f250 lost the timing chain, which had been replaced just over a year prior when he took it in for for that recall and the infamous fire starting windshield wipe system. And my F250, it went because of the crappy air box that ford put on the truck which had been replaced 3 times by ford verified by an oasis report prior to me buying it.

I long blocked my brothers and dads trucks and both are still running strong 20 and 60 thousand miles later I'll give them that. Myself, I'm still contemplating if my trucks worth fixing 2 years later.

I will say this, I'll NEVER buy another ford product and that's because after my first oil change on my company truck which is a 2012 chevy, the "tech" double gasketed the oil filter which blew out and drained on the freeway locking the motor. The dealership drove out and picked me up 60 miles away and offered my company a brand new truck after to talking to corporate. They even had the porters help me swap all my stuff from my bins into the new truck.

I'll be a chevy guy for life.

Mitsubishi did the same thing for one of my girls friends. She had am 2011 Evo, always took it back to same dealership she purchased it from. The mechanic left the oil plug finger tight, dropped all the oil on the freeway. They picked her up like 45 miles away brought her to the dealership and she was out the door in a new 2013 Evo that same day. They also told her the services would be free and next time she came in they would swap out the stock wheels, to whatever aftermarket wheels she wanted.

My boss has a 2012 Tundra that has the trd supercharger on it installed at the dealer. The thing pre-detonates anytime you stab it. He has taken it to the dealer to get this fixed multiple times and the dealer cant figure out whats up with it. They wont warranty it either. It has even been to corporate and still nothing. He also had the rack and pinion go out on it in the first 4 months of having the thing.
 I wouldn't buy one.

Q: How do you double the value of a Chevy?
A: Put gas in it.

Q: How is a golf ball different from a Chevy?
A: You can drive a golf ball 200 yards.

Q: Why are there sidewalks beside streets?
A: So Chevy owners have a safe place to walk home.

Q: How much wood could a GM*truck haul if a GM truck could haul wood?
A: As much as the*Ford*towing it.

Q. How do you make aChevy accelerate 0-60 mph in less than 15
seconds?
A. Push it off a cliff.

Q. What is found on the last two pages of every Chevy's owners manual?
A. The bus schedule.

Q. What did the auto parts counterman say when the customer said,
"I'll take a set of wiperblades for my Chevy"?
A. Sounds like a fair trade.

Q. What do you call a Chevyat the top of a hill?
A. A miracle?

Q. What do you call a Chevywith brakes?
A. Customized.

Q. How do you make aChevy go faster down hill?
A. Turn the engine off.

Q. Why don't Chevy's sustain much damage in front end collisions?
A. The*tow truck*takes most of the impact.

Q. How do you improve the appearance of a Chevy?
A. Park it between two*Fords

Q. Whats the difference between a Chevy and a shopping cart?
A. A shopping cart is easier to push.

Q. Why are the new GM*trucks*more aerodynamic?
A. So they will save the Fords gas when the Ford tows them away.

Q. What did the Ford say to the Chevy?
A. Would you like a tow home?

Q. How can they improve the new Chevy truck?
A. Put a Ford engine in it.

Q. Why are the Chevydealerships giving away a dog with every purchase
A. So the owners have someone to walk home with.

growing tired of all the big talk finally asked the Texan, "Just how

and said to the young
man " Well sonny let me put it to ya like this, I can get in my pickup
at sunrise, drive all day long, skip lunch and still not get to the
other side of my property by sundown". The young man shot back
quickly, " Oh yeah, I know what you mean, I used to own a Chevy truck
too"!
