Just use your little plug in sirius from your garage
Definately the least expensive way to go, easy install too

About the bose speakers - I figure I can install the aftermarket radio and then go from there. If it sounds like distorted crap, then I can move forward and replace the speakers. Maybe I will just replace them anyways since it seems the speakers arent expensive at all.

It all depends on what you demand of your system. If you want it to sound like marcsrollin's Civic you're going to need about ? $8K... it's difficult at best to describe how a customer wants a system to sound. Yea you want it clear, you want it fairly loud but you don't want the whole block to hear it... to some people that's $1,500 and to other's that's $5K.
Two basic types of speakers in my personal opinion, you got your trash dual cone, mediocre 2-3 way, and the only speakers I'll ever use seperates with seperatly mountable mids and tweets. Your most expensive 2-3 way speakers will sound worse than your least expensive seperates is how I look at it. You can't ask a 6" speaker to play cymbols, vocals, drums, deep bass, guitar, etc... all at the same time and expect great results. A decent basic system to me is a good deck, seperates in the front, seperates or 2 way speakers in the back depending on location, a good 2 channel amp for the front, a good at least twice as big as the front amp amp for the sub(s), and sub(s).
All major brand aftermarket decks are built pretty much the same, so if you take your average Alpine, my personal favorite, the volume control typicaly goes up to 35 - but you start to hear distortion around 17 or 18. So if a average Alpine has a max wattage of 40 per channel, more than half that power is used up by distortion. Distortion is what kills speakers, not wattage. The bigger the amp, the clearer the sound at lower volumes. I believe in too big is just right in amps.
Most factory decks are built for the stupid operator and will "detune" the volume control for idiot operators in an effort to lessen warranty problems.

I have never been impressed with bose my whole life. There is so much hype around their stuff, but I just dont hear the quality enough to pay for it. I figure its a name to drop for yuppies to say they have something better then average.
You think you're unimpressed with Bose? Try working with the flocking things!

I'm going to call corporate now for you and I'll repost.
