Is it possible to connect my Tele to my LT , a found a google search that said its as easy as an "S" video cable ? anybody done this ? Tom

Thanks Bro I got a "gank" of S vid cables and I'm guessing you mean the tradional yellow/red phone jack delios ?? but I'm clueless on th extended desk top  Tom

I also have a dedicated computer networked that connects to the 61" tv in the living room.

there are a couple different ways to do it depending on the quality of picture that you want to see. also depends on the tv and pc/laptop that u have.

keep in mind that "svideo" is the easiest solution it also provides the worst possible picture!

Tom, is it a HP dv9000 Laptop? Give me the actual model number and I will tell you what you need to do, TV model # to if you have it!

So if I got the right laptop model this is the side view of your laptop. In the picture you will see circled:

1. SVideo - Worst possible picture - Carries no audio
2. VGA - Same as your computer monitor, seperates Red / Green / Blue Colors. Also known as RGB 15 pin. Carries no audio
3. HDMI - Best possible picture(Same Cable you would use for High Def). Carries Video and Audio on same cable.

With the 1 and 2 option you will have to get a 3.5 to 3.5 Audio cable, available anywhere. (If your TV has a 3.5 jack. Same as headphone plug on an IPOD, MP3 player, etc). If your TV does not have that kind of input you can get a 3.5 to to component cable connector (Red, White, Yellow Plug. will only need Red and White which carries Left and Right Audio, Yellow is Video)

If your TV does not carry any of the connections needed there are devices that you can hook up to help this process but the can get pricey! $50 - Several hundred!

Doubtful that your TV will have an HDMI connection.

It looks confusing but its really not, you just need to compare the outputs on the laptops to the available inputs on the Tv and buy the neccesary cable and connectors. Questions....call me!

Tom, how'd that work out for you? I got a 22" flat panel for X-mas, running two monitors, can watch TV or FM on one, TV card installed, and surf on the other. We watch Netflix of the LT on the bigscreen downstairs.
