Hawaii
« on: July 02, 2009, 11:04:44 PM »
So I'm in Hawaii for two weeks and this is almost the end of week one so I thought I would come to the pool to check out the talent and there is none at the pool. So I busted out the iPod touch and a 1/5 of jim beam and a one litter of cola. I'm getting pretty trashed and still no talent the highlight of my evening so far has been the jim beam and the great George strait tunes blasting in my ears. From waikiki Hawaii this is the beav

Hawaii is not a good place for talent lounging around the pool. Its kinda a mellow romantic couples place, thats why I have not bothered going for years. So far the best place I've been around for younger college talent is Vancouver, early 20 somethings have a thing for older guys who like Dire Straits (in my car CD changer), at least this is what I'm discovering............................ ;D

so the details.

i faught this fish for about 3 hours about 20 miles off the coast of wikiki. we were on our way back from catching mahi-mahi (sp) and hooked into this fish. the reals we were using heald about 800yrds of line, well by the time the boat stoped and i got the pole, i could see the spool so im sure there was only about 50 yrds left. so we started fighting this SOB for 3 hours. we got back and weighted the fish at 591lbs as you can see from the pictures im about 5-9 5-10 so that should give you a size. its a Pacific Blue Marlin and this was the very first time i have ever been deep sea fishing  O0 ;D

Way to go Dave! My buddy has a about 600lb blue from HI mounted in his house. His dad said he would stuff and mount his first big game fish. ;D It s too bad he lost the first one they hooked which the skipper guessed was around a 1000lbs. These fish get huge in HI. I got my first one in Cabo in 1986. 175lbs. Small compaired to that beast.

the fish is being enjoyed im sure by a bunch of asians that like marlin, the boat keeps everything over 100lbs, the good news is i have the measurements so i can have one made, and i didnt have to tip out the boat because they made money on that big SOB.
