My is running, but I want to rewire it. Last weekend I shorted wires for the electric fuel pump and had to replace the ignition switch.
It kind of suprised my wife when she came in to shore and turned off the key and the engine kept running :o

Yes. Haven't started that project yet, still collecting parts. Should be starting on that one this winter. Good choice. Not that I'm doubting you could do a gel coat job... but with the history you've got in your boat you're going to be much happier with a professional gel coat job.
For the record, I have two boats, and they are both running. The boat I got from The Chaz I no longer have. The Mach 1 can be running at any given time simply by turning the key. The family outboard powered boat can also be running at any given time by turning the key.

got mine to the point it should run, jus no way to shut it off!! ...lets go!
gotta wire ground for mag and B pump.....put in a case of oil...set the timming....and thats it!!

my turn, 26 eliminator mohave runs mid 70's and stout family ride
19 hawaiian engine not finished but berkeley is in and waiting for the ford powerplant
21 tahiti total rebuild, trailer finished, floor in boat done new and glassed work on transom now next summer in water at gathering with a ford powerplant in it too

I think last we checked, the gel coat was estimated to be between 3500 and 4200. The major hang up was the whole metal flake procedure is what most places said was the major expense. Seeing as how we have already preped it and sanded it, I'm hoping for a little bit of a break. But just to have someone else deal with it besides me will be well worth it. The whole family history will be well preserved... as long as I have a few connections for rides in the meantime...

race boat may not be running, as ive orderd a new camshaft and dont know if i'll have it done in time for the race.
on a better note, chris straub designed it for my motor specifically, that being said the new cam should make 700hp at 5800rpm >:D

My intentions were to swap motors and other chit to my white boat, but now that i look at it i really like the hull and the look ;D I really scored with this boat, Thanks man i would not have seen it otherwise. But i gotta give you some crap for it.
I spent the money that was supposed to get my trucks clutch fixed ;)
But you know what they say, A mans got to get his prioritys straight. I did good ;D
While im at it, I want to say thanks to Jim Rich and family for helping out with this project.

OK, for about 2 hours there both of my boats weren't running, but the family boat is back "online" with new spark plugs and a new impellor. $297 later and it seems to be running just like it did before I got my hands into it. :P >:D :D

Mine doesn't run yet. My 460 block has been machined and ready to go. I have a bunch of parts waiting. I think I might try to get it painted before I put the new motor in. I finally got settled into the new house. Since my wife got a brand new Tahoe, it's my turn to put some money in the boat. (if there is any left). I would like to have it ready for next summer.

I had one the ran and one that is being put back together but now the one that was running doesn't. Rule one of boating never let a family member barrow the boat. Something happened with the ignition system. >:(

Funny the resin to your flip flop, I just stepped on a sheet of dynamat with my barefoot today... Still trying to get the black shit off. To top it all off that black crap is all over the carpet in my new boat because I was so pissed trying to get it off and get out of the boat at the same time.

Now that's some funny shizznit! :D
As of today my boat is now down. I'm selling my Jet-A-Way...great piece...just no room in the back seat. That and my boat rides really wet even with it trimmed so I'm wondering if that is due to the motor being farther forward than it was originally.
That and I took the intake off to get it cleaned up (I used to have a fuel leak at the secondary bowl and it stained the manifold). I'm gonna have it bead blasted and powder coated clear. When I got this motor running, a buddy of mine installed the intake while I was finishing up the electrical...he must've used a whole tube of RTV around the intake ports. I was pissed. In any event I got all that shit off, but now I'm gonna have to pull my oil pan and check to make sure none of it got into the motor.
Also gonna clean out the bilge and a few other things that need to get done with the motor out.
Hopefully I'll have her up and running in about a month.

No Brad the other boat is going to be sold as I have said I am done, I will be putting a engine together to go back to having fun with my family on the river skiing tubing and just having a good old fashioned good time. I am working on getting the boat titled so I can sell it.
As I said before I will be pulling for the Ford powered boat as I work in the pits on a J hydro !

Hey Toes, Actually no I just bought a Place craft tunnel jet (similar colors) This Eliminator 20.5 V-drive is truly my family cruiser I bought it about 3 seasons ago and hurridley threw the motor in it from my Bahner Jet Its taken this long to find time to actually work on it .. Tom

Yea, Ive had it up to 75 mph (speedo, no gps that day) and it was very smooth and stable ;D .
OK, Yea it was on the trailer at the time ;), It runs (most of the time) but has no prop or seats ;D

mine runs great, just everything else about it is fawked up.
on that note I pulled the tanks and installed new fuel senders this weekend. Ordering new Livrosi gauges this week for all gauges. After I get the wiring all squared away I'll probably wait till winter, pull it all apart and have the hull painted with some white and purple theme. Thinking about capping too.
Will then finally put in the new grey carpet, and get some new interior. Going with lightweight fiberglass seats, no more wood frame heavy crap. Tired of it falling apart in a couple years.
Also have a diverter to throw on. :) Will be pulling apart the pump to tighten that up too. Probably paint, but toying with polishing the bowl.
I hope to have a 70mph boat after all this crap, if not so be it.

Got my 1977 Old S'cool Spectra 18...Blue Oval powered and runnin perfect ;D (except for that little water hose leak at the River last weekend!) :sly: Oops...realized this thread is for boats NOT running,My bad :P Well...mine still runs perfect :thumbup: ;) 8)
