Shit done to my truck.
Appearantly I am not allowed to own a vehical without someone wanting to break into it.
My new silverado was no exception.
They never got in but managed to jam the door key cylinder in and now the latch mechanism jams up and I cant get out of my truck with out workin the lever and the fukin lock at the same time.

My solution is to shave the door handles off the fukin truck !
That'll teach them fukers!
Who does that kind of shit around here (IE) without taking an arm and a leg.

Find somebody that does street rod work. Smooth out the doors and getting remote door latches is going to be the hot ticket. After that get some 22's and bag the fuker.

There's a place in Garden Grove that does them pretty clean. Not sure how much he charges. Saw a car that came out of the shop a few years ago and the work was top notch. Not one of those bondo wave jobs. I wanna say the place is called Wicked Rods, its not Wicked Creations which is also in GG.

beerjet, If this truck is your daily driver just fix the door and call it done. Remote door latches can be a pain in the ### !!!

Lets think about this...
Scenario #1.... You take the family to the lake. Back the boat down the ramp. Everyone gets out. You walk back to unhook the boat. As the door closes behind you, you think wheres the remote (its on the keyring, in the running truck, that you cant get into).

Sure, you can add a "secret button" to pop the door open, and hope the thieves don't find it.

Scenario #2.... Your getting ready to go to work. You walk out to the truck, push the little button on your remote, and nothing happens $:-\$ . Lets try this again, push the little button a little harder, still nothing. Well maybe the remote is broken. Good thing you were smart and had that "secret button" installed

. You push the "secret button" and nothing happens $:-\$ . Due to an act of God, the trucks battery is dead, and you cant get in to open the hood. Or maybe the solenoid that pops the door is bad, or the relay, or the alarm brain, or a fuse, etc, etc, etc. Doesn't matter because there all inside the truck, and your not.

i see all points here, but the truth is no matter what if they want your shit bad enough they will get in...the lock cylinder causes the least damage to your truck, but it always damages you the owner the most...maybe a 300 dollar car alarm is in order...

I thought about the good alarm but I just dont to hear the fukin thing go off when dew builds up on the hood.

Turbo350r had a bitchin truck a few years back that was an absolute pu$$y magnet.
Not a handle anywhere and I remember it being pretty reliable.

Yes, I know, if they want in , they'll get in.
The truck has lo-jack, gap insurance, and some other fukin insurance from GM, plus my insurance, so the possability of making money on the truck if it's ever stolen is pretty good

None of my vehicals have ever had a broken window cuz I don tleave anything in sight which leads me to believe it's probably just rookie punk kids who have no thieving experience , hence the rammed in door lock.
Besides a secret button sounds kind of cool

I think you got lucky, usualy they go right under the door handle. Fucs the whole door up and they get in. I hear the silverados are high on the most stolen list. I park the Vette and the truck in front of the boat and the jeep sideways behind them and my room is right above the the driveway.

MY 2 CENSE...LOL

i saw plenty of them at the chevy dealer (when i used to work ha ha ) to get into the newer body styles..you ram something hard into the lock cyl and basically snap off the c-clip mount in the handle, pushing the lock cyl into the door, and then you can use something to lift the prop rod and unlock the door get in and party....i does take a lot of banging on the column to get access on the newer chevys to start them..unlike the older ones.........
so from what i remember on your ride is you only have one lock cyl in the drivers door .....unfortunatly you have to replace the handle, most likely the lock cyl and have it recoded to match your shit......survey says about 350.oo or so you should be able to buy the handle pre-painted to bolt in..most likely under your deductable too?

....if your going to fix it take it to the "dealer" bodyshop and see if they sell a plate called "jimmy jammers" its a plate that bolts behind the handle and lock cyl to stiffen it up.....call me if you have questions bitch....

i've heard about those. you probably have to pay a monthly airtime fee though
