firecrackers will scare them off prolly
good thinking you could get one of those small guns farmers use to scare the birds you can get them at a feed store

From my understanding is a pet shop caught fire and they released the birds and they have adapted to the enviornment...this is what a family member told me...could be a myth

I believe that is true, somewhere in the Arcadia area or something.  I recall all the flocks of them around there when I was younger.  More recently some were hanging out around my house in Glendora, but only for a week or so.

Dave,

When I lived in Fullerton there was a flock of them, probably 100+. They'd fly around my neighborhood every afternoon, I thought it was cool. Then one day, they picked my tree in the front yard to stop and take a breather in, suddenly they weren't so cool.

lol wow, this brings back memories. Back in the day when my grandma used to live in sierra madre they were all over so I asked her why there were soo many, and she said that back in the 60's or 70's i think it was, there was a big ass petstore in pasadena and they had a big ass aviary there too, they had all sorts of exotic birds and animals because this was before the govt started to make non native spicies illegal to import. Anyway one night I guess the place caught fire and when the firemen got there and rescued a bunch of the animals but they set all the birds loose, and those parrots took up residence here and adapted because our climate is similar to where they are from, and since then they are all over. lol and if you need a big ass snake like sex toy ask omar, lol I think he has a 12 inch black rubber fist :-D  >:D
