I only build AMERICAN ENGINES   and I BUY AMERICAN.
I've worked on Merc. Benz, Ferarri, Rolls, Imports etc.  and for years I just turn them away

Sad to say though I get more calls on that stuff instead of domestic 

maybe just a little from Canada 

I make an effort to buy American and to buy from the smaller local shops.

Please buy AMERICAN!! I know times are tough for alot of people right now , but if we don"t start buying AMERICAN it"s just gonna get tougher!!  So please suck it up , spend the extra couple bucks and keep OUR money in OUR country!

Have you ever really tried to buy American...I mean really tried....


I had to go buy some tools when I got my new job, some of mine were getting old and needed replacing and some of the tools I used were my old shops....

Anyway, had to get about $6000 worth of crap. Anything with an electronic anything, you could not buy american, I don't care what it was it was made in F-ing China.....

Went to go buy a work light with a stand, no such thing in the US...even the "American Lighting Co." made in friggen China.....

Then I go to buy some workboots.....don't even go there.

I bought a Master Lock lock out tag out kit.......Made in Indonesia  

I bought a bunch of stuff from Victor, all suposedly made in the U.S. but all of the holders, strikers, tips and hoses were flippin' Chinese.

We better get our crap together or we will be eating rice with every damn meal........

keep buying overseas crap and dave will have to learn how to fix it.

It's only gonna get harder to do.   Other places can make stuff so much cheaper. 
NO punitive taxes
NO OSHA
NO need for a legal dept.
NO overtime pay
NO air conditioned offices
NO UNIONS      etc.

We will never be the manufacturer for the world again.   History has an evolution.    When England settled the colonies, Europe was the place to go for technology and manufacturing.  Gradually the colonies began to supply more and more raw materials and eventually enen overtook Europe in factory output.   We are now getting our goods from second world countries that are not bound by labor or pollution restraints.   Their employees are glad to go home to a shack and don't expect a 3000 sq ft house on the wages of a laborer (no matter how skilled).   They also don't have any income protection if they are injured or out of work.   It is two different economic worlds out there.

We have to excel in technology, innovation, and invention if we are to stay out in front.   That is what has worked ever since WWII.   The invention of the internet and faster computers is what pulled us out of our last recession.    We also are going to have to get used to having China India and Brazil as equal partners on the world stage.    We owe China so much money they are beginning to get scared we can't pay it back.   They don't want that to happen.   India is a democracy with a lot left over from the British.   They know what they are doing that is successful, and they have watched the west for a long time.   Brazil is resource rich and energy independent, that is what worked so well for us for the last 150 years.

If you haven't read  "The Post-American World"   by Zaheed Fahria  (sp)  you should.     Its gonna be interesting for our kids -- good or bad.    It will never be the same as we grew up expecting it would be.
