You don't want to coat the loader because then you cannot see the cracks. If anything spay paint it white so you will see the dark spots if it ever cracks. The bolts should go all the way thru the intake as GT has said. This will help insure that the loader will not get lose. You should check the loader everytime before you drop the boat in the water. Also they do make Allen head counter sunk bolts. You nylocks and lock washers on the inside of the boat also

that is Jimpens loader from b1 it's extremely good quality. And planning on ordering one to try out myself. I currently run a MPD of shelf loader. But that one also works amazing

Don't coat it! If you do then you will not see the cracks if they come up. The only way to get them shinny like Jims is to order a stainless one. Your loader is fine, you can take a little scotch brite to it and clean it up, then spray paint it white.

X2. DO NOT COAT THE LOADER! I take mine out after every day on the water and red dye check the loader after every race day.
Also do yourself a favor and never use slotted hardware. Those always are a pain in the ass!  Grade 8 black oxide Alan head bolt. 👍👍👍

...and yes, he meant drill all the way thru and use a hardened washer and nut. Will be stronger than threads used on intake housing.
