Well I finally got everything I needed, including boat running right, to pull my kid around behind the boat. On Sunday we started with knee boarding, he got it first try!! Anyhow, I noticed it very hard to get up on plane and while towing him if I tried speeding up to plane out I would spray him quite a bit...😖  I have a 21' closed bow Bahner w/ stock 454, panther housing w/ American Turbine Energizer Kit. Is this how it goes in this style boat and can I add something for improvement?? I've heard of wedges, diverters and pre-loaders but don't really know what does what... I'll include some pics. ... The last pic isn't at towing speed obviously but it's an idea of how much spray I have at about 4200 rpm. I'm at about 3000rpm, not planed out and giving him a face full when I go any faster. Oh, it was a 75' rope I used with one length removed... Is that the problem too?

Jy is right, if you want a cheap easy quick fix pick up a 2 degree wedge and kick the nozzle down but a place diverter would be the best bet

Try a full 75' rope, You were using 60'? I use a 100' rope when I ski.
Diverter is good too.

I just got a new 75' rope... A friend said to pull one length off of it(maybe 6-8'). Why he said that I don't know. I already plan to put it back on for this weekend. Even at that length with a knee boarder I noticed a lot of rope under water when towing. Wouldn't that be much worse at 100' or does it really matter if it drags?

We've always used 50' rope to kneeboard or wakeboard.. Puts boarder on a fatter spot of the wake for more "pop", that's why we do it..

50-65' when I board behind mine with diverter down the whole time.

I grew up skiing behind jet boats... If you don't have a diverter it puts the wash right where you're at so a 100' foot rope is almost mandatory until he gets better at skiing learning how to slide right or left....

I ski a lil faster than a wake board, and ya get more roost, especially on a short rope.
