Parker strip at night is awesome. I prefer the full moon nights, you can see everything. Watch out for the idiots that enjoy going fast at night, many of them are dead now  :screwy: Water is low at night so make sure you know where you are.

There is no speed limit on the strip day or night. I was talking with one of the local sheriff's that patrol the river and he told me you can go as fast as you want, if you end up dead we'll clean up the mess.

NO SPEED LIMIT IS A GOOD THING! Our local politicians are not going to screw up the river with stupid regulations like Havasu did and NO I don't like it when an idiot kills anyone other than themselves.

True....there is no speed limit on the AZ state books for the Parker Strip, day or night. However......and I am speaking from an unfortunate event that ultimatley had my night cruise ending up behind grey bars the police can pull you over for any speed they consider unsafe.  In my case it was 32 mph, I said Sir, "there is no speed limit on the Strip at night" and he said "there is a speed limit at night and I enforce it, it's 25mph".  If you drive your boat on the Strip at night you will get pulled over at some point, everyone does.  During the day you can do what you want as long as you don't act like a a jacka$$.  After dark, you will eventually get pulled over for just driving at night.  Took a few years before I drove at night again, it is a very cool experience.  Be safe, extremely sober and drive slow.

Ran out of daylight some years ago heading up river from havasu, got dark around needles bridge, rear light didn't work, but made it to bullhead in no time flat, headers glowed red between the flange and water ports  . water was glass, and no traffic. 180+ miles with open headers, shut this bitch OFF. No wait at the launch ramp either  8) Midnite lake runs are a blast too.

everytime i leave the lake its usually 6-8pm and i look over at parker river on the way home and im thinkin "damn i wish i was on that right now..." it looks like perfect glass, sunset...

so i get the whole "being sober" deal obviously for safety, or is the sherrif out in full force trying to find the drunks that have been out all day?  i have yet to have a beer and get behind the wheel... its just not worth it to me.

In Parker the fuzz is pretty cool during the day as long as you're not obnoxious and drawing attention to yourself.    At night you will eventually be pulled over though.  They know they can make some arrests at night.  Yes....they pull everyone over at night at some point knowing they will nab a few.  It starts with a check of all the safety stuff and then they they catch a wiff of some whiskey breath....its all over then.

thats lame.  i play by the rules i just want to have a good time without being harassed like im some type of convicted felon.  i hate the whole "do you have all your safety equipment OMFG IS THAT ALCOHOL I SMELL?" "no im drinking a coke..." "RUM AND COKE?  STEP ONTO MY RAFT YOU'RE UNDER ARREST"
