I had a beer tap for my shifter in bug once...threw a little light in it....made for an excuse for people to want rides in it.

It was a budweiser tap....funny part....I didn't even drink then. (High school)

Put my new back seat in and drank a few beers in the boat while looking at the engine  while I post this.

Put the rub rail on today. Still gonna replace all the railing later on but I was able to salvage the mangled mess so it'll work for now. 

Made up some ride plate brackets and polishin up some of my stuff that was blue anodized....🍻

It's happening. Between beer runs and cigarettes it's actually going pretty quick. Pick up the gaskets tomorrow morning and should be running tomorrow afternoon.

I did this yesterday but forgot to post it, I had to build a bracket for my diverter cable it just didn't want to hold in place on the stringer so I went a different direction. Also had to replace my alternator belt, when I put the boat back on the trailer on Sunday I noticed the belt was gone, I have had it throw belts before but this time I broke it, glad it happened when it did and not while I was out playing.

Considering I didn't touch the engine until about 4pm I made pretty good progress today. Adjust the valves tomorrow, make up some new plug wires and button her up and she should me singing to the neighbors tomorrow afternoon.

Forgive me....I must've missed it....what happened to engine?

Accident didn't do really anything to the boat besides ripping the boat hook out (which we have a plan to fix that). I had a weird temperature is sure on the passenger side. Pulled the valve covers Friday afternoon and noticed a tiny bit of milky oil. Called the parts shop and ordered a gasket set, pulled the intake and heads. Everything looked good. Could easily take another. 030" out of the cylinders if I was going to keep it. Heads look great. Valves and valve springs. So I pulled the freeze plugs and cleaned all the shit out of the engine. She's back together with all new gaskets. Getting new plug wires and going to set the timing and haul ass to the regatta next weekend.
