I farm about 150 acres raising Hay and grass silage. We also breed Purebred Maine-Anlou beef cattle we have about 50 of them.

i believe they operate the switches on the tracks for the railroad...when there is oncoming trains or for loading and unloading

Switchman work in the rail yard we build the outbound trains, put the inbound trains away. Within the last couple years they have done away with the engineers in the yard so now the switchman drive the locomotives around the yard with remote contols like big remote control cars.

Retired from the rat race, pulled 8 years in the Army Infantry, 40 years in heavy truck, equipment, bus repair and a Ful line GMC truck dealer. Also spent 20 years on the Eastern APBA circuit racing F-Service, E- Racing, Ski. and SS classes. Today reading the different posting and answers, today I have my first race Boat M-2 Sleeper 1931 Chris Craft and participate in APBA vintage.
