I wouldn't ever run a single carb tunnell ram again. Crappy fuel distribution.  I'd probably go with a single plane. Just my opinion...

What RPM does it make the +/-450 HP?, if under 5K, go modified dual plan (dual plane with a relief cut in it) like an Air Gap. Over 5K go open, maybe a Wiend Stealth, or team G...Spacers make a bit of difference over 5K too..

Sounds a lot like my engine, I put a Team G on it and I've never looked back. A nice single plane is one of the best things you can do for your boat.

X2

Tunnel Ram is the WRONG way to go for single carbs. (Still werkin on Nordie over that) For show only. Puddle fuel at the back, horrible cylinder to cylinder distribution, only made for certain drag racing rules in certain classes and wanna be street runners IMHO.

I'm not even sure you need "Hi-Rise" or spacers with what you have, honestly. But a Team G or Torker is never a bad choice on these things at your HP level. Listen to Skip, he knows more on these type of inductions than I do. You're good on the 850!!!!

Many of us run Tunnels, I can list on, but those that run good and run HARD, mine not really included in that last group, are twin carb deals with a lot more to them than meets the eye, and a TAD more power to them. (What is it Ralph keeps saying, his "60-ish Family boat"?)  :D

Skip is that Team G a 4500 or 4150 ? After I run the tunnel ram I have a Victor Jr 4500 I might try ;)  Just trying to get the most out of it, the setup I'm running now works fine but bad on fuel.

More than likely it's a 4150 style carb.

I didn't think they made a Team G for a 4150....You could go adaptive spacer or get a Stealth for the 4150 flange.... :-\  The Stealth makes more mid range power and has better throttle response IMO.

I had an Arizona Speed and Marine EFI on our Team G...Was the shizzzz.

They made at least one, it's on my boat.

FB- If you can't find a Team G, I would recommend an Edelbrock Victor Jr.

I must be the only person on earth whom had a good running single carb TR  :sly:
And for years !
All the plugs looked great and only for shits and giggles did I go to the Team G with a 4500 base.
The single TR's do have a shitty signal and are a pain in ass to tune but believe me , when thats what you have to make work, they work or.....  :screwy:

The Team G gets the nod the from me
The Offenhauser single carb TR (turbo thrust 360) plenum was actually designed for jet boats.
RPM's start at 2500 and go to about 6500ish .
It really did run like a dual plane for me .
Like I said though, I must be the only person on earth.....

I had a single TR on the Hallett for a year, I had no qualms with the performance aspect of it, I just didn't like the way it looked.
