better off going to JBP and spend your money their. I believe they are just a lil above cost

Im not shooting down your idea, im just giving my point of view as a seller on ebay...

Just bought mine from Tom for the JE on the Moo. Bought it new for FAR less than the two or three I watched on Ebay over the last few months, and all of those were used, and 2 were missing parts, like cables and shifters or reverse buckets.

Do it right the first time.

Nothing wrong with Ebay parts buying, but just know what you are buying and what you can get it for new. (Bought my pair of 750 marine carbs on there for $425 for the set, cheapest I could find them ANYWHERE was $749 EACH, and I bolted them on and run them today without touching them.)

There are some smoking deals, just be smart about it.

Took my current job cause its work and gets me closer to moving too Huntington Beach. My job gives me lots of spare time, one day per week in Vancouver and maybe once a month in Kelowna area. I'm bored cause no cable T.V out in the sticks on 5.3 acres living alone. I've noticed not as many resources near my new place either. Second boats even your average 1980's runabout Bayliner with Force egg beater seems to be a lot higher then most places in the U.S. Third besides our jet boats, around my new area tons of aluminum fishing river jet powered boats around. Waiting for my U.S house to close hopefully the buyer's bank likes their appraisal.

I'm seriously considering buying boats from WA, OR, Nevada and Cali, etcetera. Either re-selling them whole and parting them out in Canada. Exchange rate and NAFTA makes this fairly easy to import them. Ebay can be a hassle and with web design templates its just as easy to create your own site as posting an ad on an auction site. Less expensive. Even though I'm thinking of doing this more as a hobby to fill excessive spare time--immigration visa also limits what I can do or Id seriously consider getting a part time job. Even so part time and hobby business. My own site and ads on craigslist along with people doing net searches should be sufficient for enough business to do this.

Being from the used car repair and sales business. With small indi repair discount bought most of our Mercedes parts at an authorized dealership for those cars, as an example--- Parts mark up at least in cars is not that much. If busy enough (more demand, etcetera) could probably buy stuff from JBP and Hi Tech to supplement my inventory and still make a little money. And be close to wholesale at low volume, etcetera. But to make actual money if I do this--Id concentrate on selling whole turn key boats vs little volume of parts. If ever full time, the real money would be in service too make it worth having an actual shop business. At least I'm assuming its much like "used" cars repair with some performance parts, etcetera. But the real money was in repairing customers cars.
