What are everyones opinions? I've never been to Havasu in the jet boat. Its an 18ft Eliminator bubble deck w VERY mild 454. Any tips?. I have 20 gallons of fuel. Should i be nervous? How far is it (time)? Thanks for replies. Going Cinco de Drinco weekend.

Might I also HIGHLY suggest doing it on off days or hours, that lake gets pretty rough for small boats like ours. Fuel wise, you should be ok, but it's a good idea to have a buddy in another boat to accompany you.

Roughly 25 miles bridge to bridge, LONG no wake zone, in the refuge (about a mile), fuel in topock, havasu marina, others. Have been all over Havasu in a 17', just keep an eye on the wind, should be fine. There is a few sites to see along the way. Laughlin to Havasu and back is a full day (for me) 180+ miles in one day with open headers, my ears needed a break.

I do it all the time.  You should be fine.  There are a few washing machine spots -main one being a couple miles south of topock where it narrows with rocky cliffs on each side.  Other than that you should be fine.  Watch the wind when you get out to the open lake.  If you stay towards the CA side when on the lake it's typically smoother water.  There's gas in the marina if you're concerned about fuel.  The sand bars on the south side entering/exiting won't be a problem in a jet.  Just watch for groups of debris.  It will be crowded this weekend -keep that in mind (again, washing machine effect).  I'll be running from Havi to Pirates either Sunday or Monday to avoid the initial burst of folks.  Oh yeah, people will be at the "mini" sandbar b/c the big one will be closed off.  On the CA side nearing the opening to the to the lake (going south).  Enjoy!
