What a shitty week......
« on: October 26, 2010, 11:10:27 PM »
I don't normally vent personal crap here much, but gotta.... :banghead:

So, last year, my lovely wife decided to foster some really young kittens from the animal shelter (she is more of an animal lover than anyone I know) these guys were only two weeks old.....Too young to adopt out.

Soooooo, she bottle fed and cleaned these three little cats and actually had one almost die twice, she brought it into the animal shelter to get some injectable fluids for it because of dehydration and one of the workers recognized the kitten and said "I think we have the mom"...it was being held in the Ferrel cat area....Yeah!... so she came home with another cat... :screwy:

Turns out, all of these guys are just cool as hell, very friendly and literally starving for attention...

Don't get me wrong, I love animals too, but four?  :o

Anyway, she was able to get them all healthy and my kids fell in love with all of them (gee, didn't see that one coming...LOL) and we ended up adopting all four, two males, one female and the mom...

It made my wife the happiest person on the planet just seeing them healthy, she has had a hell of a last couple years.....

Well, last week, we lost track of the young female my wife called Gracie, she turned up dead in a field next to our house and it looked like a Coyote attack. My wife was absolutely inconsolable.. I ended up burying it Saturday morning. Well, Sunday we lost track of the mom (she was very young her self) and still has not shown up, I have looked everywhere, no sign at all.

I have no idea what to do.

So my daughter was planning on going to Japan for the "Journey Of The Lifetime" with their marching band in high school, we have been saving every extra penny for a year, which I don't have to tell you is hard to do right now.....

She came home from band practice tonight and they canceled it because of the funding. I guess the dollar is weak compared to the Yen....making the trip impossible. I just wish they would quit letting these kids down, this is not the first time they have been disappointed and probably not the last.. :-\  I will be having a conversation with the band director this week, he is really starting to let me down as a person these kids look up to...I simply cannot leave it alone at this point.

And to make matters worse, my son is having some difficulties in school, and not wanting any help, it's funny, he aces all the tests, but can't seem to get the homework turned in. He is too proud to admit failure (gee, didn't see that one coming either).

Anyways, thank for reading the drivel, it is just difficult to be in a house where virtually nobody is happy.....

Hope things are going better for all of you guys, if not hang in there.

I honestly don't know how some of you guys do it.... :-\

GT my friend, what you need is a puppy.  A Mastiff is what I would recommend. The wife will love having a new baby to raise, he will grow enough that (once properly trained) the Coyote issue will be gone, he will keep the kids in line, and the cats... well those wont be an issue anymore ether.

Ur first problem was the cats.....worthless horrible creatures.....feed the other 2 to the coyotes and your life will turn around.  I hate cats.  Buy the wife a dog...puggles seem to work.  They're cute and fun to play with, but you don't wanna shoot 'em like you do cats.

As far as your son goes...take this for what it's worth.  I'm a new dad with a 6 month old, but I had a self imposed tough time through school.  The best advise I can give you is to find a mutual friend....one who is close to both you and your son, and have that person sit down and talk to the boy.  I've played this role many a time, and most of the times it worked.....the other time, well....we call her mommy now. ;D  Kids won't listen to those that they know to be authority figures.  Kid's will listen to people they think are cool and people they think of as friends.  Find a friend of yours that your kid gets along good with and watch everything come together.

You have seen my moose...I mean Lab  ;D  The dog is getting older  :sly:....Having pets is tough.

If you had a chance to meet my old cat of 20 years, she would have changed your mind on the cat thing...Maybe...

Followed you around like a lost puppy and literally could talk to you....well, sort of.

As for the son thing, the problem is that he is literally smarter than most of us, but has Asperger's syndrome (very mild form of autism) so socially very awkward. A challenge to say the least, not to mention he's 15 and already knows it all... :D

Thanks fellas...Don't send me a puppy... ;D

Glenn, Glenn, Glenn. First thing first. Fire up that gas powered blender of yours, mix yourself a drink and sit in one of the boats you got hangin around the house. Think about all the good things you have. A job, a roof over your head, and your questionable health. (J/K). Go back in the house, tell your family you love them and tomorrow will be a better day. Trust me, seems I have had to do this a bit lately. Except for the boat thing and we all know why :banghead: Keep your head up brotha......

I was thinking "Dang, GT's living my life right now."   I even have the most dog-like cat ever.  He will make a beliver out of cat haters every time.   But Bob totally turned it around for me just like that!  I think I can actually sleep tonight.   Thanks Bob      Hey Greg ~ listen to this guy.

How about a slightly retarded Springer Spaniel????  >:D I swear this thing is the Rain Man of all canine-dom.........WHAT was I thinking....... :screwy:

I think many of us have been, or are, in similar situations. Venting it is a great help! done that myself on here and felt great about it!

Keep your chin up, bro. I keep thinking "Tell me about the Rabbits again George"............

I wanna see pics of this Marguerilla maker! I salvaged an engine from an Echo weedeater a few weeks ago with that exact thing in mind!  ;)
