Being an avid drinker myself as well as many others , some , not all accident or incidents occur not so much because of the fact that alcohol impairs your ability to react normally but (I think) we are taking for granted that we are in boats and boat DO NOT drive like cars . No brakes for instance . Some people get into a situation where they need brakes and of course there is none so they just sit there holding the wheel instead of jamming it in reverse or turning the wheel with a little throttle .
At this point I hope everyone is OK and we all are a little smarter for it . Lets have a safe summer .

Good post Bro because theres no Required training or licensing to use /operate these Hot Rods . It absolutley scares the beejeezus out of me to cut loose a guy (whos just bought his first boat) I can only hope that they listen to what little instruction I can give , A couple years ago I sold a nice SW to a guy I said " do you want me to go to the lake with you the first time for a little instruction...' No I can handle it ,he says then about the third time out he panicked let off the gas (while looking back) and smacked a Canyon wall (and sunk) DOH !!
Then there was "Helen" middle aged woman who for reasons that escape me bought a nice Jet Boat , After her first weekend disaster on her own (with her druggy boy friend) where she sucked up a bucket of golf ball size rocks and destroyed the jet (and the smoked the motor from overheating with a closed gate** valve 6K repair) So after spending more on the second repair than she paid for the boat ,She actually took me and Josh out for some pointers at a local lake She'd Nail the Gas for 2 seconds ,then squealed like she was "orgasmic' and promply let off nearly swamping the boat in the process, I then ask to drive ..... Or theres Ric

the USC jock boy (never owned or drove a perf boat ) that "welded" an Fresh 8k LS6 roller motor together in less than 30 minutes of driving ,ignoring
everthing we had told him to watch for "cause he needed to show his Boston buddies" a good time ! (cost me 3k) Geeze I'm starting to rant a little
Be safe, Vest up ,carry your saftey equiptment, check out your boat before you take it to the water and be vigilant!
** note Helens boyfriend had shut the Jet gate valve when they first launched cause they had left the drain plug out ,I did not make this Up !!!
