I'm not sure about KIA, but with the Toyota plant in Texas, roughly 50% of their initial workforce was from the GM plant across the highway, and after 2 years of working @ Toyota, the majority of the ones from the UAW/GM said they wouldn't go back for any reason. Pay is good, bennies are good, most importantly, working is good.

The problem with UAW was bennys came out to about 70 bucks per hr for each member toyota honda and mosts imports have bennys that come out to 40 bucks per hr for each member UAW not all that money went to the employee s package but to top guys and lawyers   lawyers suck bad thing is my oldest boy is becoming a Navy lawyer  :screwy:my 02

didnt mean to turn this into a union nonunion deal...i knew toyota nissan and all of them had put plants here, but hearing kia took my by suprise really, trust me im not knocking it by any means....i know that my total package as far as my pay, and what the company pays for me isnt near what i get on my check, but atleast i know i will get a ritirement out of the deal without relying on a 401k, and social security, but for the now for these auto plant workers im sure that is the least of their worries....feeding your family is a main concern...i can appreciate the fact that these foreign companies are bringing work here, the sad parts is us own americans are giving out work to foreign countries....how often is it that you see a made in america logo now a days? seen a gig on winnebego, and almost everything on their rv's is assembled in house....really was digging on that....anyway thanks for confirming ralph, and skip
