rick floated his phone in his pocket....but I did talk to Marc ...he met rick out there to lend him a loader.

Marc said it went good, but not great. more testing is in order thursday/friday at ming.

About Testing at Ming Thursday/Friday: Just a heads up....according to the Kern County site...

Only sailboats are allowed the 2nd full weekend each month and Tuesdays and Thursdays after 1:30 pm; motorboats are allowed all other times

....so, no testing Thursday after 1:30. Cheese and wine only with your dockers and deck shoes.

when i spun out at parker i called jim brock and told him what was happening and he told me to run wide, because i cant keep up with the plate boats around the pin. so if you look at the video from parker and ming i run wide so i can keep my speed and not spin. am i the fastest boat? no. but i havent spun since and i would rather be slower and live to race another day.

that being said the g-force in my boat is pretty hard as i feel as if im being ripped out of the seat when going through the corners. hell at ming i ripped two bolts out of my seat and the steering column is now looser than it was, as well i had to add a left foot blank to help support my fat ass from being pitched out.

i know we are racing but once again its all for fun and i WILL  live to race another day.

i guess what im trying to say is your pushing your boat beyond what the set up can handle and you are going to hurt yourself or somone else...... testing is fine and thats what it's for, but come race day drive within your set up as to not spin out so we can all live to race another day.

I am in the same boat with ya, but when trying different things sometimes you go the wrong dirrection. Maybe Jim Brock is right, Sangers are terible circle boats !

Jim,

First off, this isn't a personal attack so please don't take it that way. Even as much as I want Ralph to go out there and whoop your ass, I would tell him the same thing if he was in your boat.

I hope that you are taking your entire boat's setup back to the drawing board before this weekend to correct the issues at hand for the sake of the safety of the other racers in the class and the future of this class. After hearing your testimony as well as others from last nights test run, it seems that your boats handling has gone from bad to worse. I personally don't feel that your boat has ever handled well in the turns. I have revisited the Parker '06 and Parker '07 videos and watched you run recently out at Ming 3 weeks ago - it just doesn't turn gracefully. It would porpoise in the turns and you were violently jabbing the throttle through the turns. I admit I have no seat time in a race boat and I am strictly a bench racer at this point, but I am just telling you what I see....and it just doesn't look like it has ever handled well.

At this point, you are stating its attempting to spin out in all magnitudes of turns. As I see it, your boat is now considered an extreme risk to your safety and the others. We are going to have 7 boats out there this weekend and the water is going to be crowded. We all want a safe race.

I know you and I are on the same page as far as the expectations of the class as far as safety. I also know that we both want to see this class grow.

So in closing, I hope you continue to troubleshoot your issues and not throw in the towel by thinking its ok just to "bring up the rear". I really hope you sort these matters out because I want to see you out there safely being competitive this weekend. You have 3 nights of testing left, make em count.  Best of luck to you and your crew.

Yah know Brad, I think your are 100% correct and it is the worst handling boat ever made. But it is all I have so we will do some work, spay some speedcoat on the bottom and see where it puts us and go from there. I sure hope it will hang for this race. I think it may have to be taken out back and shot, this old horse has come up lame.

Just not sure what to change at this point, everything is where it should be for this boat as well as many others. I honestly think something must have happend somewhere between here and Merced. Maybe the long ride on the trailer hurt the hull. I have checked every inch and it checks out according to Sanger prints as well as all mods. I am scratching my head ??

to be honest, i like to beat myself it feels good
we all know i cant win and havnt won, toby just gives it away and i will try to do the same thing as allways. nick can beat me and did at ming my speed 83.7 his 78.? and he still won   jim i dont know what is wrong with your boat and if i did i would tell you, just keep after it and you'll get it. i'm just concernd about being safe, and as i've said a few times today we will live to race another day
