Is there a 12-step program..........
« on: April 08, 2009, 10:35:48 PM »
..... to stop me from buying Goddam Boats??? Omar wants to know.

Saw this thing on Craigs list this morning and was gonna post it on the Cragslist Spam thread. Called the guy, he lowered his price from $4700, then to $4200, by the time I got there to eyeball it, he had lowered it again to $3500. I got it for $3.

Obviously, no need to post it.

In case that link is no good anymore, heres the pics from it.

Dude, that thing is super clean!

Screw the 12 steps, save them all from people on this site (that will remain nameless) from taking them to the dump!  :sly:

Congrats.

Thanks Jeremy, Couldn't find much bad about it, 'cept for the original metal flake gel coat that still shines. Some bumps and dings, but nothing major, it is 30 years old! Looks like some minor oil leaks, I suspect, but no milkshake evidence, and the old guy had it out last sunday with his grandson I'm told. Has had the engine rebuilt at some point, I can tell that much. Other than that, damn thing is sweeet! Sorry I didn't give anyone else the chance to get her, but I'll keep my eyes peeled!  :sly:

Crewcheif would be proud, nearly impossible to terrorize my children in this thing I think. :(

And the price was right!

Ray

Now to deal with the Yellow Sub, need more room. Can't get the Bahner until I clear something out, such a quagmire I put myself in. But will be a fun summer!

Who would do something like that.  :sly:

Nice find IRRebel.  It looks just like the one my parents had, back in the day.   Ours had windows on the side panels over the fuel tanks so you could see how much fuel was in there.

Thanks!

It may well have had , at one point. Will find out more tomorrow night when I bring it home. Actually Friday when I can look at her closer in MY garage! I was sooo stoked, I took about 35 pics of it and left my camera on the deck of it. (Hadda get to work, guy called me to tell me he had my camera)

Interior was redone about a year or so ago, and where those woulda been is where they put in speakers on teak sidepanels.

Ray

Still haven't forgot about the moo, now commissioned "Udder Nonsense". I figure everyone in a mid-life crisis need a hot rod! Just debating now what boat I'm taking out on Sunday...............

2Sav's rubbing off on me. Maybe it's a Zona thing, like Valley Fever.

I hope so. The thing ain't no hot rod, but does sound pretty healthy. Just counting the minutes til I can go bring it home. Gonna hafta take it to work and look at it in the dam parking lot all day tho.............Might take it out tomorrow, however, I'm off!

Still, lol

Nice freaking boat Ray. I live up here in Phoenix and their has been some nice daycruisers popping up. I loved this boat instantly. I think we should trade, my 78 Omega with a built 454. Daycruiser's are awesome. Later   TC

Good job Ray. Looks like everybody is going cruiser. I'm gonna hold out for a v-drive and or something around 26-28 foot. I just like the v-drive, when I was following crewcheif accross the lake moving at a pretty good clip, I acually reached down and tapped my tach and lifted the console to check the cable to see if my tach was working!!

Hey Ray, my wife and I have to go to her fathers house for Easter. I tried to talk her into going to the lake but its her tradition to be at her dads. I think we might go next Sunday. After next Sunday we have all summer free to hit the lakes. If you or Forkie are ever coming up here to hit the lakes let me know. I live about 15 minutes from Lake Pleasant. We like to go to Bartlett too. Its probably our favorite lake around here. You can also send me an email at weld4days@yahoo.com and give me a heads up. It would be fun to hook up.  TC

That there is funny, But I'm too far into the Udder Noinsense thing. However, no name on this one! lol Blue my wad? My Udder one Blew this one, Look what I found for Easter (It's a Pastel Blue and dark blue metal flake, does kinda resemble an Easter egg,  ;D).....I heard a few more I'm afraid to post today while it was parked At the Ocotillo Home Depot Loading Zone all day. Shoulda seen the 'landscapers' bithin about that.

Going out again next sunday as well TC, Lake Pleasant sounds fine. I was told to terrorize the Cove if I took the Moo boat. Whatever that means.  Forked up lives closer to you than me. cave Creek I beleive.

Anyway, got the boat home a little while ago, looked at my camera, guy jacked up my mem card, or I did (More likely the latter), so hadda put in a new one and take pics in the dark. Will take some more of it in the sun tomorrow.

That is one cool cruiser, if you ever decide to sell her, let me know, I think we "need it"  ;D, Don't change a thing with that flake though, it's retro and just plain bitchen.

I think my favorite accessory is the 100MPH taped reverse cable, I had a cable break at the Heim joint once at Lake Shasta, we were going about 40 MPH and the reverse gate came down and slowed the boat down like we hit a sand bar, took the reverse gate off and boated the rest of the week with it, what a mother to dock  :banghead:

Yeah I know, the cable is jacked. Guy gave me another $100 off for that, so I paid $2900. Gonna call Tom in the morning and order a new one. Place Diverter cylinder leaking a little bit too. Probably needs repacked, if it can be done. Lots of little things, Hopefully nothing big. Big query on my mind was, Why the Faux leather brown upholstery?  :screwy: Looks good, just dun match the boat. Needs it's original windsheild too. Only saw two bubbles on the deck, probably under the Easter Egg blue paint, I would guess. Wasn't a quality job, but looks great at 10 feet.

The flake is original gel. Lots more of it under the Powder Blue paint. I have no idea what it's original scheme was, but I have no intention of removing any of it right now! Might be nice to see what was originally under in tho. Strip part of it?? I dunno. Just gonna run it Sunday, hopefully everything works, replace the cable next week, hopefully it runs fine all summer. I'll run the Moo less though, but the kids might have more fun in this one instead of reciting prayers. >:D AND lights! Dunno if I like the idea of driving a jet boat at night, but nice to have it if I need it.

Next winter? Who knows, but yeah, the Flake stays no matter what I do. Totally old school.

Dad will have more fun in the Udder one! Was hoping to really get a good water test and tune in on Sunday with it, but I think, since it's Easter, Better to drive the more docile Easter Egg colored one anyway. 'Sides, wanna know if the pitot and speedo works! and how close it is to the GPS.

Anyone make a 2 boat trailer??? lol

Wasn't there an old country song, something like "Don't it make my brown eye black and blue" or something somewhat close to near like that?
