I would trim those bolts down if possible. I had about a penny's worth of clearance. One puncture wound and three hard impacts on the bottom of the pan and ten quarts of Mobil One Racing 4T oil in the bilge.
The Stef's oil pan is basically a conversation piece now.
Keep an eye on it Justin.

my bolts are cut and ground down but I lowered my motor just shy of three inches on purpose plus my dan Olson pan is heavy jap steel chromed lol

Jim,
Erika and I are taking the Hallett down to B1 tomorrow Tues. the 16th.
I'll have a better idea after talking to Chris about turn around time. I'm sure Chris wants my sled out of his shop as soon as possible to take care of other customers needs. Bako is coming up soon and I am sure some of the racers will be needing last minute attention from Chris.

Good news Dave lets get that thing back together. We have had our hands full with our boats so the timing will be good it sounds like. I think we will have both of our back together this week it looks like. Dennis is making a lot of progress on his new boat.

hey if you need to borrow a cherry picker I've got one you can use im over by the mall off of Ave P but I don't have a truck anymore so you'll have to pick it up and return it.

Thanks for the offer Eric. I have a hoist and an engine stand. I need to pull the flywheel and get the engine out of the cradle dolly and on to the engine stand. I'll try to get the new oil pan installed this weekend.
I dropped the Hallett off at B1 this morning. Chris looked at the intake carnage and said no problem Dave.

Chris told me maybe 2 1/2 weeks. If the repairs take longer, oh well. After all I am the one who hit the rock.

Either way I know Chris will make the needed repairs and the job will be quality.
