Yep...heat and a floorjack...

Get the fasteners out of the bottom (I have used a die grinder and a little Scotch Brite pad deal to get to the screws, then clean out the slot) and tie the hull down to the trailer (for the added weight) and put a jack and some blocks under the intake and lift it up a bit. Then you can use a little heat to get the epoxy to soften up. be careful with the heat.


My old boss used this method if the hull was junk; use a piece of plywood on the transom hole and to the top of the intake to make it hold water, take out the screws with a Cobalt drill, put two jack stand under the intake and lift the bow to put pressure under the intake, fill hull with water until the intake pops...Kapowwww!  Sort of fun to watch.

thanks GT, i wanted to see if anyone else has herd of that before i f it up. i got the screws out already and carfully  chipped away some of the epoxy along the intake ( using a sharpend puddy knife ) to help free it up and used the floor jack but it still wouldent budge. i will try the heat  next

Thanks for this info.  I'm getting to remove my Berkley 12JG  and intake.  I will be replacing it with a Dominator 12S and Dominator intake.  I hope it's not a big deal to remove and install a new pump.

i also removed my berk for a dominator. it took some time to remove the intake without trashing the glass, just be patient and it will come out.
