So since im waiting on parts i figured id finally get around to cleaning up my place diverter. Its heavily modified and been ground on quite a bit leaving a lot of rough edges and the paint lookin like shit.

So i took it apart and smoothed out my edges and i plan on having it stripped and re powder coated. My big hurdle at this point is getting the reverse bucket off. The pins are pressed into the bucket and spin freely in the nozzle. The pins dont go all the way through into the nozzle so you cant press them through. Can i pry it off without snapping the bucket in 1/2?

Yes they are held in by smaller allen bolts. Ive taken them out, but the pins are pressed into the bucket firmly.

I could but that seems quite a bit of a pain in the ass. :-/

They areway too tight in there for the magnet trick. Im not gunna fudge up the surface tach welding on a bolt. I can see myself really fuckin them up tryin to drill a hole. Im gunna give the break cleaner method a try. Maybe it will free it up.

does anyone have a manual?  the reverse bucket was put on some way. i would not try to bend it.

Being as your going to strip and powder coat them anyways, get some muriatic acid (pool acid) and a plastic bucket and put about a gallon of water to a gallon of acid (important to add the water to the bucket THEN the acid.) and soak the nozzle/bucket for about an hour.

This will free the scale from around the stainless pin and it should literally damn near fall out...Just be sure to rinse the parts in plenty of fresh water before you grab hold of it..  

Been doing this for 20 years and this is by far the least destructive and least amount of labor this could be done....

It may require a second dunking...If really stubborn, a third....

Brad, That is a shetload of upwards wedge, how does she ride when you're not roostin'? I would imagine it's not very easy to manage, is that part of the reason for the "turning fin" or have you grown a liking for fin because you've had to run them on the circle boat?
