Looks like I just might have her done by the summer!  Got some sh!t done finally.  Front carpet...check.  Glassed in tanks...check.  Interior...check.   Set motor in the f'n boat...CHECK!  Holy crap, a 30 min job turns into 3 frickin hours because some dumb ass...that would be me...decided to put the motor mounts in upside down and backwards.  Lesson learned, pay attention to which way they came out :banghead:

alright, so i need to pick some brains here!  trying to get this pig fired and can't.  i've got spark, fuel and compression is good.  i thought i had timing tits but now i'm doubting myself.  whats some info you guys need from me to help get this running?  its turning over and sounds like she wants to fire, but can't quite get there :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Hey DJ, since you got 12v at the coil, spark, and fuel, sounds like timing might be out a little...recheck #1 cylinder @ TDC (compression) matches rotor firing #1 plug to get you in the ballpark...and since this is a new engine, for initial start and /or cam break-in, I would take the tunnel-ram stuff off and keep it a simple 4 bbl until you get it running well.

great job

Frank, thanks for chiming in here.  Okay, so I got #1 @ TDC (compression) and I reset the dizzy so rotor is firing on #1, also re-double checked wiring order.  I'll swap the tunnel ram back over to the torker manifold and 4bbl today.  Another question though...I'm using the old MSD dizzy that I bought the boat with, seems its working fine, but do I need a 6A or 6AL?  When I brought the boat home she had a 6AL but crapped out due to being exposed to all the salt.  I was trying to stay away from running another one, but will if I gotta.

Check the part number on the dizzy and look it up in msd's site.  They make one that needs a box to run and one that doesnt need a box.

I started thinking about it and it sounds like yours doesnt need a box if its sparking right now without one.  Not really sure though.  Mabye not a hot enough spark?

I had a problem with the box working intermitantly and it turned out to be a bad ground.
