yes fulton makes swing tongue kits... but my competitive trailer has a 3.5" tongue width and they dont make a 3.5x4" kit... 3.5 is an odd size trailer tongue... i couldnt even find anyone that was willing to order a 3.5"x4"x1/8" thick rectangular steel... i dont even think the tongue is a solid piece if you look at the pic where i cut it off it looks like they just bend the C channel together and weld it down the middle on the top and bottom.

so i chopped it out, ill use this 3x4" steel and slide it up inside the trailer, weld it all the way around, inside and outside, etc. and it'll be good as new. ill use whats left over for a bow roller/stop thing and a winch on the front as well.

Looks sweet. My problem is that I have a surge brake hidden inside my frame I also have a competitive trailer so replacing my front tube to a smaller one don't think is possible

swing tongue done. also pulled the boat up onto the trailer about another foot. if you havent been following the trailer is from an 18 footer. a 21' trailer wouldnt fit in my garage.

That was the best thing I added to my trailer comes in handy added about 18" to my swing when I tow also so I have more clearance. Looks good!!!!

Wow, that looks nice, but if i remember right, in the instructions somewhere, it said something about not having the tung tube more than either 18 or 24 inches when used with the swing away.

tongue progress. made the little hoob-a-joob that will hold the boat from moving forward. the little "bar" was a pain with my 18 footer, i couldnt imagine with a heavy 21. so i put a winch on it, ill thread the strap through a hole, it will go over the bolt at the top which has a sleeve on the inside that rolls, and then it will hook to the boat.

ill also put a little piece on it with a "V" that will hold the front of the boat below the bow eye...

one of these...

and then of course ill have a safety chain as well.

cuz its not done yet. the boat wont move forward from the little rubber v block, and a chain, and the straps on the transom. ill also be putting some plate on the front of it to brace it. 3/16" steel it would take a house to bend it.

I'm referencing the 4 foot extension off the front of your trailer. Personally I would of extended the trailer itself another foot and a half somewhere in front of the axles but before where the two rails come together and then added a swing tung. The square tube stuck into the front of the trailer then welded just scares me. And who welded it up for you?

the steel tubing is slipped a good 12" inside of the trailer, welded all the way around in front, down the insides underneath, and then the end has a plate welded to that which is welded to the rest of the trailer as well. its not just butted up to the front of it.

similar to this:

im not a pro welder but i did a few tests with a piece of scrap tubing and tossed it onto a buddies press and nothing broke... we will see i guess.

I weld everyday for work and I can tell you right now that doesn't look safe and there is no way in hell I would tow that boat, on that trailer..... Looks to me like you are welding with flux core.in my opinion that shit is only good for repairing fences out in a field. Also of you are welding that with a 110 welder it is nowhere near hot enough to properly/safely weld that material. A job like this(major trailer modification) needs to be done by someone with experience. This isn't a dig on you at all, just would rather not potentially hurt yourself or others.....

To me those welds look as cold as ice ( not much penetration ) I would call a portable welder guy and have him check it out, it wouldn't cost much and the piece of mind is priceless.
