In my best "grandad" voice with a cigarette hanging out of my mouth.... "if a day goes by and you learn nothing, I hope like hell you got a lot of sleep"....
I'd try to save the gel on it before shooting it with paintSent from my iPhone using SoCalJetBoats
Thanks for everyone's tips! This hole project is going to be a learning process for me. The stripes are painted on like crewchief stated. I'm not a paint guy so I don't know if the stripes can be sanded down to get to the gel, or just paint over em. I haven't found any cracks in the hull. There are some areas along the bottom where the glass is thin from I would think beaching it. My phone
The set back..... Is that Sanger a delta pad?? If so, I wouldn't do it. Are you going to pull the intake and have it cut for a shoe and ride plate???
Mine was stiff when working it back and forth on the trailer. Once I got it on the water and under power, it was amazing!
SuperJets are a delta pad hull
I have a mild(very) 460 ford and a newly rebuilt pump. I only took it out once this summer and changed the plate angle. With the old set up. The plate was 1 degree down and the boat rode very wet at almost 75(gps confirmed) the season I raised the plate to 1 degree up and the boat freed up a ton. No gps numbers because it was a holiday weekend and the water was a little rough. I also attribute the wet ride to the fact that I have a bit of water logged foam under my sub floor. This summer I plan to really do some hardware adjustments(money allowing) I would like to hit 80. Which I hope isn't to much of a stretch.Sent from my iPhone using SoCalJetBoats mobile app
Also if you are in fact looking to go fast. Check your hull. Almost all Superjets I have seen have a slight hook in them, mine included. That will have to go Sent from my iPhone using SoCalJetBoats mobile app
