Right on, well if we plan a trip this season at big river or even Parker I'll be sure to stop by and perhaps you can show me. My truck isn't 4x4 so I think I'd prefer no slippage lol

Thanks Steve, I have a few friends who have boats but not jets. Most likely I'll have one of them come out on first launch to keep an eye on the motor as we put around. I was told to make the first passes short and tune as needed then grow to longer runs on the lake. I'm assuming(with no boating experience) that it would be somewhat similar to a seadoo as far as turning. I do know that I must throttle through turning because if I don't it's not going anywhere. Definitely looking to launching and learning what boating is all about!

Fordlover, negative. I still need a little work before a shakedown run. Previous owner said he was taking in water at the seal where the drive shaft meets the haul( probably worded that incorrectly, please excuse my ignorance)

AVI is a nice place to stay and not too far from several cool hangouts.  Up river you have Lazy Harry's and Back Bay, down river you have Pirates Cove and Topock Marina.  If you have large enough fuel tanks you can cruise through the Gorge into Lake Havazoo.

Now, launching/retrieving at AVI is another story... Their ramp drops you into some fast moving water which can make you nuts, but when you add in a bunch of rental SeaDoo's buzzing around it's enough to make you hit the bottle once you're on the trailer.

Crewchief22, thank you for the info. I'm planning on going during the week so hopefully there won't be too many seadoos buzzing around.

Off topic, I just installed my battery and when turning key showing not battery power on voltage meter. Any suggestions on what to check for. Battery is fully charged. Possible short?

Should be pretty easy to run down with a test light? Make sure you have a good ground... But it really only takes a few wires to make her spin? Does it have a ford style solenoid on it? If so that's where I would start checking with my test light...

No test light available at the moment. :/ I'm guessing bad key switch, just contacted old owner and he said it was going out last season or he was having issues with it wasn't too clear though. But if it were bad would anything else light up like gauges?

Very possible could... Cheap enough to throw a new switch in it... Sucks being stuck on the water over a 20$ part...

Is that something I can just pick up at autozone or do I need to go to a marine supply?
