Yank the steering wheel and column off you should be able to get to the inside to hold the bolt.

Sorry I had a busy day. Here's some pics of what I have going on. I was able to jig rig it off the dash by removing the bolts but I need to be able to remove the red anodized come where the steerin wheel mounts too, so I can remove the plastic cover to get to the bolts to reinstall.

I also have another question, where should I mount my two new batteries in my new boat? Any good ideas?

From what I know that's not coming off. Just about to do one on my t deck and it's not coming off. Supposed to buy a new one with the new rack...regarding your batteries most guys mount them in the back one on each side of the stringers I'd say mount them under the bow dead center right next to each other. Clean no battery look when you take a peak at the motor. Just my .02. Don't mark my words on the rack setup I could be wrong. That's at least what I've been told. Pretty sure one of the old timers will chime in soon and help out.

Stick it between the stringer and the pump if it fits if not put it on the outside of the stringer. You don't want to pay for 10-15 feet of battery cables let alone deal with routing them and tripping over them. Keep it simple

Okay that's what I figured i'd do, any ideas on how I should mount them? To a box or fab something or what?

There's got to be a way to remove this thing... Because how did they install it? There's no way to mount it with having the column disassembled. Please wise scjb guys help me!!!

There should be a bolt there and once you take that bolt off it slides off. Might take couple blows with a mallet to break it loose.  A puller works good. I just did my steering 2 weeks ago and all I had to do was take that bolt off and some elbow grease and it slid off

Here is the rack that's in the dash of my new boat. I removed the steering and the bolt that was threaded to hold the silver part down. But I can't remove it at all. Same thing as my other rack. :banghead:

That coupler needs a puller to remove it's a press fit once you get that off it should just slide thru the hull.

Is there a specific puller I should use or will a gear puller work?

I also have another question I'm redoing the rivets on the rub rail and I want to know if I should put a sealant of some sort behind the rub rail. There's a couple spots where you can visibly see the separation from the top mold to the bottom mold. Any suggestions? Or should I just leave it?

If you can get the gear puller to bolt up it should work if not go to nearest auto part store and get one for the steering wheel they are cheap.

I relocated the shifter in my new boat. I need some tips on how to correctly mount the cable and set it right. Is there a thread or any tips? I couldn't find one in a search
