Back from the High Life's first river trip with me as it's owner.

NOT ONE PROBLEM !

Damnit! I really like this boat!

I did a "just for fun" short unofficial race with a good friend of mine, I WON!

I think my tack is AFU, because I hit 5800 RPM and still had pedal left.  :o

This is what I looked like towards the very end of my weekend.  ;D

My G/F and I went all of the way from Martinez Lake to Walter's Camp (north), and from Lake Martinez all the way down to the dam (south).  ;D Here's a pic of Walter's Camp.

Good job Hotrod, Noce to see you had a trouble free weekend!

I didn't expect it, but it was awesome to not have to fix anything on the boat. The boat trailer had a flat tire Saturday morning when I woke up but that was good because that's when it was the coolest temp outside for me to change a tire.  ;D

that's a long ways to walters

Yeah it is!  :o  ;D  We had a freakin' blast, so much awesome scenery and WATER!

hope you didnt spend all your fun chips....i cant wait till next weekend to see this boat (and all the others) in action!

Hell no, I"m just getting started.  ;D

There's a lot of things that can be done to/with a boat that are nerve racking as all hell. Here's two of them.

I used carpet.

yeah, those things will punch holes through your hull in no time.

How in the flock are they going to punch holes in the hull?  ???

get the jack stays out of there. go get some boat foam

 :-\

to much weight in one spot :o

I'll put the picker back on it. There's no way in hell the back jack stands are going to damage anything, do you know how thick that sh!t is back there?

Beerjet should have bet me. The trailer is taking waaayyyyy too long to get into shape.  >:(

Things I did today.
1. Painted the trailer.

Things I still need to do.
1. The engine's aluminum needs to be cleaned.
2. Install valve covers.
3. Paint touchups.
4. Pinstripe the trailer.
5. Replace the trailer lights.
6. Replace defective bildge pump.

then why the hell do they bother to put bunks on the trailer? to distribute the weight evenly.

yeah, it might not punch a hole through the hull....but i dont agree it was the best way to do that.

hotrod,
congrats on the boat and getting her in the water! Man, I love white trailers, they look so clean.
There's nothing wrong with setting your boat up on jack stand like you did, just make sure to use something inbetween the stand and the hull. Old buffing pads work great.

You don't need bunk pads on a trailer. Thousands and thousands of boat trailers don't use them, they use rollers instead and they do the job just fine.
Bunks are used to properly retain the shape of the bottom of the boat. And a good fitting trailer is key to this, and one that fits poorly will ruin the bottom in a very short time.  :)

Thanks. Old Rigger finaly agreed with me on something, or I was finaly right on something depending on how you look at it.  ;D  I'm going to throw a party!

You know, I never even thought about that but you're right about those trailers with rollers. The rollers contact area is about the same as a jack stands too. Now I just need about 20 jack stands. Just kidding.  ;D

I got it back on it's trailer at 1:55 AM last night, errr this morning. It's going to have to come off the trailer again today.  :'(  :'(  :'(  The side of the hull is directly hitting the carpeted thingy's on the fenders.  >:(  The only thing I can think of is raising the boat higher off of the trailer. This trailer is taking entirely too long and is severly hampering my finish date.  :P

It's hard to believe how much time it takes to get the trailer right.  :o

i thought all the flat bottoms touched the trailer like that....???

It's not a flat bottom, it's a vee bottom. But either way if the hull touches the trailer it will rub/wear through the hull's paint/gel coat.

I've pretty much got it done (in my head  ;D ). The fenders are going to get moved out somewhere from a 1/2" to 3/4".  ;)
