I like a clean boat without clutter on it like bow rails, rub rails, cleats, bimini mounts, etc.

i say loose it! I think cruisers look way cleaner without the bow rail. heres a pick of my POS

I too say ditch it. Looks like Brads old cruiser and Hondo Hals boat.......

If you ditch the rail, it will take 10+ years of aging off the boat.

Its nice to grab and inch it up on the sand once in a while. If you gotta walk it through some shallows and have current, it will be handy.

They would've looked so much better if they died it into the gel a few feet from the bow light like they did in the late eighties to early nineties.

My pops had a Hallett built in 89. The year prior,  the bow rails came to meet at a point like yours.

Anyway, form over function,  ditch it. It will look a lot better, but there may be a time or two when you will miss it.

Moving on, how's the gel surface? Colorsand and buff or slap a coat of wax?

The swimsteps look like they can use some help. Hit up GT Jets, he knows what to buy from Jamestown distributors to make them look new.

If you decided to open up the bow you could keep them, but otherwise need to go like the "Mt. St. Baker's" engine cover (as Ray named it) on my boat lol. Nice looking project!!!
