Yeah, I looked at that. Wiring the engine side, it's a great thread, helps even though I'm going all Mallory on it. The Mallory manuals help with that tho. Between the two I should be OK.

My problem is hooking up what I took off from what went to the dash. As you say, just requires a helper. My son is elected! I just want to make sure noone wired the thing wrong to begin with, much like they plumbed it wrong to begin with. I'm surprised I can't find a thread with basic wiring for the ignition switch, tach and guages to the engine. Would help to double check myself.

Aiight, took a couple days off from it. Actually, no, been piddling, really, all the small crap. But today after work started on the front engine cover I needed. Couldn't have me stomping the thing and tossing one of the kids into the engine/bilge area to get wrapped up on the crank pulley or worse. So heres what I started building.

Just a start, gorilla glued and air nailed what I have, but fits great. Once we get the rest nailed together with some suport brackets, I'll get more pics of it and of it in the boat. The top board is planned to have beer holders like 2Sav's beaner has. the angles down will be more or less armrests with maybe another beer holder in each side.

Plus it gives me someplace to mount all the ignition stuff and remote oil filter array. Dunno yet if I'm just gonna carpet it or have it upholstered, but just gonna be coated with resin and rattle canned for now. Gotta get the thing to Mead!

Was questioned why I felt this necessary. Can tell you this. The kids are important to me. That, and me being the inventive person I am, this didn't meet the approval of anyone who saw it. (damn, shoulda been easy)

The fence will allow air flow to help keep the engine cool, not like that big piece of wood  ;)

Got a box today. Actually a couple, more to come tomorrow. Thanks Tom!!

From Tom ( Thanks for the water pump plate bolts! Noone had anything, even a shop here called Fred's Nuts and Bolts!)

And a new SCJ Polished Stainless Alternator mount (Took a little hilljack engineering to make it work with my alternator. I must have a strange alt, will change it out later)

Now to get the front cover on, finish plumbing, then finish the wiring. Good thing I'm off tomorrow. If all goes well, should be able to start it off the hose! Don't worry, the drive line is not in it yet. That part may be yet a fiasco putting that bitch back in. Was put on with what musta been a 200lb impact wrench. Broke 2  7/16"  wrenches getting it off the original engine! Hope it don't need to be torqued THAT tight!)
