Norco is a small town between Riverside and Orange Co.  It is mostly a horse community but there were several large dairy farms between Norco and Chino that give them a special oder and many cow referrences.

You now know what a Norco is  ;D

Horse Town U.S.A.        Where the official city bird is the Fly and the farm animals outnumber the people.  Where you get a $$$ ticket for parking on a horsetrail, the bars have hitching posts, and the tap water is a delicious shade of brown.  ;D

Well there is Lake Norconian but it is small and "off limits".
Oh wait, there is the mighty Santa Ana river right there too.  Uhhh well ya probably don't want to run a boat on that either.   But Norco is only 30 minutes from Elsinore.   Gee ain't life just peachy around here?

Ray,

My friend used to be the mayor there, my friend used to own the bar the Hitching Post and yet another friend owns All American Trailers on 6th St.  They are also very patriotic as the center stripes down 6th St is Red, White and Blue instead of yellow or white.

Thanks Steve! Removed the choke, kinda, and now starts easier and idles like a champ at 800 rpm!  :banghead: Why didn't I think of that?

Can't get the choke butterfly out without removing the curved vent tube on the marine carb. Any ideas on how it comes out? or do I break out the Sawzall again?

Also replaced the ignition switch. seems it was the source of all that was evil with the guages, thanks Skip. A few raps with a screwdriver handle ans all is well

The vent tubes are normally just lightly pressed in, You can pull it out and reinstall it after removing the choke plate.

Now, if Holley has started using epoxy and you break something, you didn't hear it from me  >:D

Still need to rig something, or borrow something to pump the oil out of this thing on Friday at Mead after it's break in run. The old fuel pump I had is no good. Any ideas? Anybody got one set up to do this?

Yeah, and I will. seems a handy device anyway. Just under the gun right now. I'll see what I can scare up at the local parts stores today. Maybe someone has one off the shelf.

Might hafta resort to my store (HD) for some adapters and tubing. Wanted to stay away from there on vacation though, ;D

Do you think I'm OK using the current CA registration (good thru 09) or do I need to swing by the Fish and Game and put AZ registration on it? Was wondering about that when I transferred titles the other day. Then forgot. Alzheimer's is such a fun affliction.

Sounds kinda cheap, but why pay to register it when the PO already did?

Just pretend I'm testing it out before I buy it, right?

Also changed up on the scoop deal. The other was for the dual quad tunnel that will go on it later. So I picked up this modified one for the time being. Will work ok for now, and I'll save it for use on the Yellow Submarine, which is next.

Shoulda seen me trying to put THIS nut on and tighten the Fokker at 6 am!  My neighbors learned a few new words. PO of the scoop drilled a hole through the top, I assume to make it easier, that was nowhere near the center. I should weld it up and have it re coated in the future. Prolly yellw considering where it's going eventually.

Also made this lil dealio out of aluminum strapping. Hopefully it saves me from the signiature crooked scoop of Omar's

All that's left for tomorrow's trip is another coat of resin on the engine cover, rattle can it, install it and tighten up the wiring.

And no, the Pallet is not the engine cover, 2sav.

Well, yeah, that woulda been easy, were it not for the fact that the scoop and flame arrestor need to go on TOGETHER at the SAME TIME. And a wingnut would never clear between the top of the flame arrestor and the bottom of the inside top of the scoop.

This is how this thing was modified, I guess. No forethought as to assembling it easy. Going to fix that before it's next rebirth. But no way to tighten the nuts behind the carb if you remove the air cleaner base from the scoop!  :banghead: Thought of , and tried, that,  ;D

But it's on and secure, I happy! ;D

Maybe I shoud just drag it with me to Mead, since I'm only leaving my washer and dryer here anyway. we can cut it up there and burn it.
