Hate to say it but I'm glad your boat broke before you hurt yourself, or worse, someone else.
In the back of my head, I thought the same thing as I was being towed back in (thanks chromey)....I dont think anyone can understand how nerve racking that putt out of the no wake zone was as i tried to psycologicly trick myself that left was right and right was left.
Initially, I thought I was going to have to drill new holes n shit in order to get it right. but since I set it up center steer, i left the helm where it was and just routed the cable up the other side of the boat.
Anyways, I just got back from ClaySmith and had a long talk with George Striegel about the issue at hand...I showed him the parts and he was stumped as well...he came up with several scenerio's as to what could have possibly happened, but wasnt 100% sure on any of them. I had him install a new arm on the pump and while that was being done, I was lookin around his show room and noticed a trophy for World Champion CompJet 1974

...So I asked him about it and we got to talking....he remembered craig and the raspberry vividly and was delighted to hear about its return. He took me in back to his office to show me a picture he had of him at long beach passing Harold Bruce on the inside while airborn and the bow diving. Very cool picture. I let him know that we have all brought compjet back and will be racing again this weekend for the first time. He was excited to hear of the news.
