Well guys i think its time for me to lose some weight .i will be 30 in a few months and i have packed on some pounds.i have noticed i get out of breath running up the stairs and my man boobs are starting to sag like an 80 year old granny.i have a 15 month old son and a daughter on the way . I would like to get in shape for me and them . I started running again last week and was surprised i could still do it.im 6'7" and weigh 340 pounds ,in my prime when i was working out and mma training i was 230 pounds but also used drugs.i would like to get back to at least 260 the healthy and drug free way. I was thinking maybe others would want to join and post up pictures before and afters,Their routines and diets. Maybe help some fellow boaters with some support to look good in their floats. Also lost weight is horsepower gained and a larger pecker. Lol

2 years ago June I weighed 264. Today I weigh 229. It's 90% diet/eTing habits and 10% exercise. Low carb no processed foods and good all protein mix supplements/ powder. If you are doing it right you will average 2 pounds a month.

I should get in on this. :-\ All my vehicles tend to lean to the left.
What are your ideas for this? We just post up pics and weights, workouts and food ideas?
It's definitely harder (not impossible) when the kids are elementary age because the homework and projects are RIDICULOUS.
That's were I'm at now (and my excuse).
If you can do it now and maintain :thumb up:.

It is hard to find time to work out .for me it just means that i have to get to work 1.5 hours early and run 2 miles.my diet was the worst. I i wouldn't eat breakfast or lunch at work but then i would stop at jack in the box and get some tacos on my way home then eat what my wife cooked then go to bed .i know how to diet correctly ,but got lazy. I have been changing my eating habits, but still eat too much at night.

Im on the same boat... waking up at 330-430AM depending on job. And getting home between 6-7PM... I'll barley eat all day so super hungry when I get off. Stop at a fast food spot and get something... I am 235, but really need to lose 20lbs. I started running monday (my legs are still killing me)... man do I miss the Marine Corps. I could do 8 miles and still not feel this shitty lol and that was only a year ago

You got to start somewhere. I was in the same position as you. Im also 30 and I've got a 2 year old daughter and found myself 6'4" and 360 in June last year I needed to change drop all sodas and milk since I drank a gallon a day no joke all I drink now is water and river beer I started eating salads for lunch and bringing smaller portions and as of 10 mins ago I'm 260 100 lbs down and don't want to stop till I'm 245 and solid .I just started lifting wights now I was tired of being fat and I wanted to be able to play with my family /protect them and being the size I was was not it. It takes time but it is well worth it just stay with it. It's all about WILL POWER what do you want more that's what it came down to for me. Good luck with your journey there's a lot of pay off like your boat gets faster lol.

Keith I know how you feel, it wasn't till I saw a picture of myself standing next to my brother 2 years ago that I saw how much I let myself gain. My wife put on 30 during her pregnancy and I did too but I didn't lose the bulk of it in 15mins and I kept putting it on. In 2010 when I got married I weighed in at 190. About six months after my daughter was born I was up to 240-250 and that's when I saw the pic. It does suck and it did kinda hurt. But working as much as I do proper diet and working out isn't really possible. So I pretty much cut out excessive sugar. I could sit down and eat half a pack of nutter butters and drink a half gallon of milk and think nothing of it and then eat dinner, I was drinking 2-3 sodas a day and was always eating out. So I limited myself to 1-2 sodas a week and pretty much cut out cookies/brownies and all the other crap my wife bakes for fun. I also cut out fast food almost entirely. And if I did eat out it was del taco or Taco Bell and I would only eat 2 bean and cheese burritos or 3 hard shell tacos with water or plain ice t. And I wouldn't sit and eat it all at once. Eat one and wait 20-30 mins before I'd eat the other. In a matter 3 months not really paying attention to my weight just the way I was eating I lost almost 20 pounds. I was feeling pretty good then I had a bad month and just stuffed my face with fast food. And then my first hip stretch mark showed up , then I noticed the second and forth. So I focused on portion control, not eating till I was full or gorged but eating till I was content and snacking hear and there and drinking lots of water. I probably drink a gallon + of water a day and just watch what I eat and how much and today I'm around 210-215 and that seems to be my resting weight with the way I currently take care of myself. I'm sure I could drop more with a little more attention to what I eat but I'm happy with where I'm at.
But the main thing like Daniel said it's a life style change and little things add up quick..

Diets are bs.
It is most important to have moderation always in your mind.
I find that it is more important to keep eating at every meal. Breakfast being more important than all meals. Never eat within two hours of going to bed.
Also drink a shit ton of water.

Not so much diet .more healthy eating. .

We do to it's awesome. The wife and I quit eating white things like bread, pasta
And the hardest to give up flour tortillas. I was at 220 right after Christmas and I'm now floating around
189 to 192.after about a month you don't miss things so much and if your lucky and have a wife that cooks good you can have healthy meals that are good. I have learned that most things that are made with wheat flour just turn to sugar and pack on fat.i have also learned that if it's not in the house you don't want to eat it so much. We also gave are self a cheat day on Sunday but after about two months and you start getting smaller you don't want the cheat day and when you eat some thing bad you fell like crap. Keep it up and hang in there it's worth it,because it's so nice to bend over and be able to breath lol it has made my job much easier.

I think I'll try. It's hard for me. I have 0 will power. But I have to lose it. It's hard for me to say this and show this picture. Last year I was up around 500. I'm now down bout a hundred, and I have about another 150 to go. Driving trucks for a living doesn't help any. I'm sick of my coworkers making fun of my size. People don't understand how much that hurts. I know how to eat correctly, but I just get too lazy when it comes to eating right. I'm starting to walk again, and hopefully things will change for me. It's a long and very lonely road. So let's see if being on here will make a difference.

As it was mentioned earlier in the thread its a lifestyle change not a diet. In this day and age we live a modern lifestyle that doesn't require a lot of bread and the like. We are not exactly plowing the fields as in back in the day when technology didn't exist.

Hows everyone doing ? Anyone lose and weight so far? Using my cheap house scale i haven't got numbers to drop ,but clothes are fitting a little bit better I just switched job locations to corona off green river road . This has given my the opportunity to do a 1 hour hike before work . Im guessing it be about 3.5- to four miles total since i was running 2.2 miles in 23 minutes out on my job in ocean side . My hike is fast paced walking and some jogging. I have been watching my firt much more with some slio ups . Its hard having a pregnant wife and trying to eat healthy. Life is sucking right now to be brutally honest.
The numbers are not bigger, but have not gone the desirable way either... Still the same 255.
That being said, I spent last night with some really great friends and had a blast. First time in a long while that I actually felt "normal".
I am not giving up, but I am going to admit that this is quite a lot harder than I thought it would be. :banghead:

Not much here either :-/ I could go on and on with excuses but I know I'm truly tired everyday after work. 7 years in the Marine Corps and that was my cardio every morning, I would run between 3-10 miles. I always battled weight restrictions and would often have to dump 10+ lbs for weigh in. Now that im out (been 7 months) I've still lost 15 lbs since being out but don't look or feel any better.
Really hoping when my cousin comes to visit next month he will light a fire under my ass... he left for North Dakota close to 14 months ago at 6'1" 280lbs. He is now 220 and lives for improvement. He started a youtube channel and I'll get some links up soon.

Lol
Wow bro, we're here for you, but that isn't going to work bud.
Two poached eggs, no toast, a couple pieces of bacon and some fruit.
Don't forget the big 'ol glass of water or vegetable juice.
And don't wait until you feel hungry at lunch to eat again. Have a little snack a couple hours after you have breakfast, then a modest lunch. Don't forget the water.
Think of it like this.
Your metabolism works sort if like a fuel gauge with dual tanks. If you wait until it says "empty", you have to fill up both tanks. However, if you "top off" the small tank and periodically draw off the big tank (we'll call that one the fat cells) with half a tank left, you won't feel hungry and the body won't feel the need to always fill back up to 100%. Eventually burning of those fat cells.
It will take a few weeks to get used to it, but you should be eating a little smakeral every so often.
Keep fruit and celery and crap handy. They keep very well and when your just starting to feel like you could eat something, much in a carrot or an apple. Celery, while I will admit tastes pretty blah, have virtually no calories, but is high in dietary fiber. It actually takes more energy to eat and digest it than it has. Sort of like exercise.
If you can't handle plain celery, make some onion dip with low fat sour cream. But dip shallow... lol
Get after it dude. The knee will not heal itself unless you drop the extra person off your back.
I'm in your corner bud.

I been losing about 10 lbs a month since June 3 of last year and an down 110 lbs believe it or not. I'd post before and after pic when I figure out how to. Is funny how a health scare can change everything in your life some for better or worse. The whole weight lose thing is no secret eat take in less increase your output and it falls off But the real key is will power. To me my two year old girl means more to me then eating a cake or big Mac or sodas I would do anything for her. I want to be able to go on rides with her play everything I should be able to do and couldn't at 360 lbs but now at 247 lbs I can and do I am 6'4" so I've always been able to hide my weight but now I don't half to. Just keep on working on it if you want it bad enough it will happen.

Honestly I don't eat crap. 99% of the time I eat proper. Whether it be oatmeal for breakfast, a chicken patty for snack a sandwich an then another chicken patty. Then I have chicken or a salad for dinner. I don't like sodas I like ice tea no sugar. But once in awhile I hit my depression and I just keep eating. That's how I got so big. These past 2 weeks I worked a total of 3 days. So I got depressed and ate. Now I'm paying for it. When I'm at work it's hard for me to eat right but I try. It'll happen. I've done it twice before and I can do it again. I ain't scurred

. Driving a truck is a tough gig for eating right. Things will get better hang in there. That breakfast did look good I will agree with that.

The last 2 weeks has been hiking since i changed job sites. My job is in the hills of corona so i hike about 4 miles every morning. Im not much of a running guy, but force myself when needed.

I hike every Saturday and walk almost every night. The pedometer app in my phone says I average 16,000 steps a day at work. I buy new boots everyone 6 months.
Crazy.

On mothers day weekend i was bitching at my wife for working against me on trying to get myself and household to a healthy lifestyle. She is pregnant so i cant give her to much shit.but after her ordering pizza and me giving in she decided on her mothers day present. We ordered the ninja blender (mega kitchen ) .it came with the nutri-ninja cups . So we decided to start making the fruit and vegetable smoothies for breakfast. Today im on my 3rd day of having them .i am eating more fruits and vegetables than i have in my entire life . The taste isn't " Oh My God " good but they are drinkable. As of thursday 5-14 i have been working out and trying healthy eating for 8 weeks. I haven't really weighed myself, but i have noticed a big difference in the way my clothes fit. I think ill wait till i have been at it for 12 weeks to post another picture in my boxers. I need to start hitting the weights soon and get my muscle back so i dont have a bunch of loose skin.
