Dana is very innovative and has created some awesome parts over the years. Based on that reputation I went to his shop looking for parts. He made the offer that his shop could install everything for me. Gauges, powder coating bezels, steering, ST control, bushings and misc hardware on the nozzle, replumbing the fuel system, replacing the fuel water separator, replacing lines, repacking the bearings, and installing bearing buddies. He said it would take a week to two weeks.
He had my boat for almost three months. Every time I called or stopped by he'd tell me, "just another couple days" or "next week." My boat was half taken apart sitting in his lot with nothing being done on it. I paid him in full, in CASH. All his parts came out bitchin, but the install is where I had issues. Things were missing, installed sloppy or incorrectly. I paid good money for a professional install. I was not a happy customer and had to fix or repair all the issues myself to salvage the rest of summer. The only time I went back is when I blew up a hub on the way back from my second river trip with the boat. I realized he didn't install the bearing buddies and I question if he even cleaned and repacked them to begin with. To his credit he replaced the hub for me.
That's my experience. Now, I prefer to do my own work or learn how to do whatever it is myself.
