Hey all you guys, we had a great time! Could'nt ask to meet a nicer bunch of people.
We had never been to that part of the river before, but everything was excellent,
the water conditions, weather, and I especially enjoyed Lazy Harry's and the coves.
The parking lot party was great, even the pizza guy had a blast.

Sunday morning we drove down to show our son the channel and London bridge
because he had never been. We even went down to Foxes, my folks used to hang
out there back in the day. But doing so we missed most of Sunday with the gang.

Anyhows, just wanted to say how nice it was to hang out with you guys, we are

I know many of the faces, but who is the "waitress" in the last pic?    I like to put names and faces together.  You never know when you may need to flag somebody down or help somebody out.

Well alrighty then, glad to meet you Gil.   And while I have been known to drink a beer now and then, it is never light beer (but Coors is a fav).   I generally stick to JD or a quality vodka or tequila.  When your my size, the day ain't long enough to wait for a beer buzz to happen.   Salute!

Hey guys wish I could have been a part of this since i live 10 mins from avi.Hopefully next year. Boat wasn't running when this one came about. Anyways just wanted to let you guys know if you haven't already heard.....there was a circus at the Mohave crossing event center which is the building directly across river from the Avi. And a 2 foot gator somehow escaped and made it's way to the river...yikes.lol. Game and fish, Mohave county sheriffs, and a number of other agencies searched for this gator but with no luck. But about a week later some guy was fishing and saw it and they finally captured it. Lol. Was a close call none the less. Having a hungry gator would be no bueno. By the way this was about 2 weeks ago. Today 10/20/10. I know this sounds totally unbelievable but it is 100% true.

 

Missing alligator found along river

MOHAVE VALLEY — A fisherman is credited with helping the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe catch a rogue alligator that has reportedly been on the lam since the Shrine Circus was in the area more than a week ago.

FMIT Police Chief Raymond Limon said the fisherman, Anthony Centofante, was fishing in the Colorado River Tuesday near the Veterans Memorial Bridge near the Avi Resort Casino when he spotted the alligator.

Centofante said he was fishing and noticed something move.

“I thought it was a duck or something,” he said. “I’ve seen beavers and some big fish in the river but never a gator.”

Limon said FMIT Animal Control officers were called and caught the alligator.

“We were searching for a week for the alligator, from the Avi bridge to Topock,” Limon noted.

Limon said animal control officers will contact U.S. Fish and Wildlife officials. The alligator, Wally, will remain at the animal shelter until he can reunited with his owners. Wally, 28 inches in length, is six months old.

The alligator reportedly was on display in conjunction with the Shrine Circus at the Avi Resort Casino earlier this month when he either escaped or was removed from his enclosure.

Calls to Wally’s owners in Texas were not immediately returned.
