Steve, I'm off Friday and Saturday if you're up to it! Be a truck up there, but I can, and will, do it Thursday afternoon and leave Sunday AM if you're serious! (Lord I wanna see this thing run!)

Oh wait, the "no Retards" rule, can I get a pass? :D

prolly want to repaint it because it has a kinda ford blue color to it, and the dizzy is at the wrong, so they might look like they is trying to pull a fast one and make one think that its a badass Ford, when in reality its a lowly chebbie :D :D :D :D :D >:D

Well after weeks of "life getting in the way" I am heading down to Dr. Cow Bells in a few hours to pick up the Sanger and motor. Will be back with it on Sunday!

The drive is gonna suck but worth every mile it takes to get this thing home!  ;D

Beers are on ice buddy, whenever you get here, lol!

This is gonna be one wild boat when it's done, lemme tell you! Moo is frightened and feels left out, lol. (Guess I need to throw the mechanical secondary conversions on to calm her down, lol).

And No, Brooke wouldn't do that! And even if she did, wouldn't buy it back unless she posed in the 'kini on it, lol! (she is SOOOO gonna beat me up for that!)

LOL, this is outta hand, lmao! See ya in a bit Bro!

Well, its out of Rays driveway and hooked to my truck. I told Ray while I was driving down to his place that I fealt like I was going to pick up an adopted kid (Seen pictures, but never seen it in person type of thing).

I couldnt be happier with what Dr Cow Bells and myself found and bought. Each time I look at another item I get more excited.

Ray, Could'nt have done it with out you! You da' man!

After an eventful drive back, the Sanger is finally home. Engine is still in the back of my truck (No engine hoist, pulling it out with neighbors SeaDoo hoist on his 2 story trailer, should be interesting).

Already started stripping it down and getting all the stuff out of it, laying out all the parts to see whats there and conditions.

Got the engine out of the truck, very funny cherry picking the motor with a seadoo lift (No pictures of it, everyone was helping with the lift). But here is where its staying till I get new bolts for the engine stand:

Like I said, already started ripping into it, progress so far:

All of this was inside of it, All rotted out but at least good for templates

Did find out there is already a loader on the pump and I crawled underneath and looked up in the pump, really clean and no chunks out of the impeller

Nice--I never get tired of seeing these old Sangers brought back to life. I don't know your plans about interior, but I recently met the guy that ran Lee Wells upholstery (who did all of Sanger's interiors) for many years. He now has a little shop--works by himself--and has access to the original Sanger interior templates, and I was surprised at his prices and when I asked him about his reasonable prices, he said "low overhead, and lots of boat experience". I know I'm going to have him do an interior for my 17'-10" Sanger Flat this winter.

Thanks Nordie.

If any of the Vegas people have a cherry picker...love to borrow it for a little bit one day soon and I can get the engine up onto the stand.

As for the progress, this is before where all the rivet holes are:

This is after about 4 hours of filling, sanding, filling, sanding, etc etc:

This is where the bottom didnt meet the top

All the hols are filled and nice and smooth

Gave a little attention to the top and they are nice and clean

All of the progress has been on the drivers side rub rail holes and one spot where the top didnt really meet the bottom where it should. Have to work in the morning tomorrow but the other side is going to get finished up and sanded.

Entire rub rail is filled in and sanded, just a little touch up on some of the holes. Most of the discolored gel on the top side has been sanded off with 220.

Still need to sand off the rest of the original paint, but need to make a pattern first and take some measurements.

Pump has been removed (not to much silicon) in order to replace gaskets and paint the hull, inside of pump and impellor are in GREAT shape. Loader needs to be removed and cleaned up and painted. While the pumps out, going to touch up the white.
